Transponders and qualifying times introduced in GP’s in 2019

IT is my understanding that coverage of all practice sessions at 2019 SGPs will be screened via YouTube... certainly both Nigel Pearson and Kelvin Tatum will be in attendance.

this will be worth watching but of more interest will be the fastest riders explaining why they took a particular number and how they perform on the night.   Im expecting some random reasons for selection.  Maybe a reporter can ask each rider what research they have done on every track and what draw they think will good or bad.

Doubt it matters that much on most tracks bar having potential advantage of a inside gate early in the meeting.   Bar the graveyard number 1 slot any number will be OK.

Warsaw qualifying is being shown live on BT sport 2 - well according to the schedule on their website anyway.

PERSONALLY think this is something that will appeal to the riders more than the general public, most of whom won't see the time trials anyway.

do riders who have missed practise because of Polish league meetings get the chance to have a few laps before the GP ?  maybe on day of the Gp ?   It evens things up.

Thats a bit of a cop out - ultimately it is the individuals choice whatever the pressure from the Polish clubs

If they were told practice or relinquish your GP place some may well give it up rather than be dropped by Poland but it would be still their choice regardless of how harsh that would be

Dont see that BSI should make special practice arrangements for those prioritising Poland (regardless of the rights and wrongs of the situation)

I'll stick up for Poland here, they give much more back to riders than bloody BSI, they're just cashing in on what the leagues provide riders, of course the riders have to put them first or they won't have enough money to race in the GPs lol

FIM run the meeting through PZM and FIM officials. What rules say about practise, stands. BSI cant change the rules. But lets say fridays practise rains off and is re scheduled for the saturday...

Not sure this Friday`s practice will get rained off because of the rain- the stadium does have a roof !! Hang on !! who remembers the opening event a football match against England  postponed in 2012 because they forgot to shut the roof in time :D

Just turned over to BT, to see what this is about (qualifying) and it disappoints me how similar to formula one it is. Depressing.

They just announced a rider(didn't catch the name) isn't in the qualifying practice... because he has an Extra League match somewhere else in Poland! I always thought you had to be there for practice.

Be interesting to see if Speedway Star feels it important to include these (qualifying) race times.
