2019 Regulations

Recommended Posts

I see that the SCB are holding a series of Seminars for officials, including team managers. Presumably the 2019 Regulations will be considered but there is no sign of them on the SCB website yet. Does anyone know when they will be published? I need to know if the heat format has changed so that, if necessary, I can up date my score chart!

Yes. Time is running out. Only around 4 weeks until the first meetings!

Plenty of time to drop in a rule that forces a re-declare of a team at crazy late notice and probably some biased addition to machinery that will line the pockets of an insider.

The heat format hasn't changed, and is the same across all 3 leagues.

The only different heat format needed is for the new Supporters Cup competition, which is the old 13 heat format plus a heat 14 nominated by  the supporters via a twitter vote, and heat 15 nominated by the team managers.

Brave new world but surely a twitter vote is grossly open to abuse?

One would think so.

It seems voting will be open from the interval (after heat 10) via twitter.  You don't have to be at the meeting to vote (so everyone in the country can nominate Poole's 2 lowest scorers for heat 14), then the team manager nominates for heat 15, choosing from everyone except those who were in heat 14.

Certainly does. Also an interesting introduction "In the NDL, only a rider who is 18 years old and under may be absent for any reason providing 3 days notice is given." Reading this means that pre-arranged holidays, family BBQ's and other miscellaneous reasons do not qualify? Also including the inability to get time off work?

The way I read it is that anyone under 19 can be absent for ANY reason....

Thats how i read it. What i was getting at is where do riders over 18 stand? If they are missing for reasons other than injury or doubling up it looks like up to 3.00 point replacements?

I think it’s the way the BSPA read it that’s the defining factor

That’s sounds like a suggestion from Jim Lawrence, the new SCB Chairman

Nice to see some common sense being applied.
