ouch 1,191 Posted April 10, 2019 One argument. “We struggle with crowds as we have several big football clubs nearby” “Rubbish, what about the huge population there” Second argument. “We’re running in-spite of the big football clubs” “Idiots!” Note:- You guys can’t all be my wife, can you? acef 795 Posted April 10, 2019 Not the best meeting by NSS standards. Some reasonable racing but have seen significantly better. Expected result against a poor team who had the aid of a track specialist. I rate this BV team highly. We were coasting tonight. Like I said when the team was announced it’s just a matter of time before Lidsey, who is a little gem, and Wells swap. When that happens and Dan gets himself into full swing we are going to be a quality outfit. I’m not convinced on Berge, tbh, but I think we could potentially carry him. Aces51 2,778 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) I agree, not an outstanding meeting by the standards of the NSS but still some decent racing. The crowd was better than I feared considering the United match and the very cold weather. It's one of those meetings that we never looked like losing. To me the highlight was to watch Dan Bewley showing that he is well on the way to being able to carry on where he left off after his serious injuries last season. He had three wins, good race times and didn't back out of a tight first bend. Lidsey showed enough in his first meeting at the NSS for us to see what a talent he is and Bradley Wilson Dean was impressive for Peterborough. stevebrum 6,820 Posted April 10, 2019 Wells seems a real concern early on, shocking form so far. Expected result tho.

Good summary I thought the gate was frighteningly low, although the Wednesday meeting, freezing cold weather and the football will have had an impact. Brilliant to see Bewley back and winning races, Fricke and Bjerre imperious and there was a most encouraging performance from Lidsey. Peterborough were never far away but, you're right, the Aces didn't look like losing. I was going to complain about the interval after heat 13 given how cold it was but as Bewley had two on the trot, the track needed work and the meeting was sorted by 9.05 anyway it would seem rather worthless. Phil The Ace 2,860 Posted April 11, 2019 Ok meeting in front of a expected poor crowd. Bewley was a totally different rider to the one at Peterborough. Good to see. Wells rode harder than his points suggested. I expected more from berge though
