That's what I thought.

Doesn't change what an awful decision it was. It gives them the inside gate whichever way you look at it.

Fortunately didn't cost us, mainly due to Becker.

Decent result though as well under strength without Nick Morris. Once he is back Wolves will be very tough to crack at Monmore.

Missed opportunity for Swindon.

Wolves got lucky given it was Swindon’s first match to our 4th outing, be better to judge once Nick is back and fit. RR is covering the rides well tho.

Lampart costing Swindon more than 1 point this evening.

Anymore performances like that and he will be a goner sooner rather than later.

To say I’m shocked you’ve commented would be an understatement. Who was it last season.....that’s it, the whole team should have been axed according to you.

Plus, Doyle was very poor compared to in Poland yesterday. Not a single race win tonight.

To be fair to the 'very top' riders it must be difficult to maintain the same level of motivation..

Its a bit like playing for Manchester United v Liverpool at the weekend, then represening Rochdale v Oldham on a Monday night..

The same sport but a huge amount of less intensity, pressures and rewards..

Watching the top league in Poland really brings home to you the vast difference. Every race is like a stand alone event with each heats' outcome being treated almost like the be all and end all..

15 races of constant pressure and scrutiny from a very partisan demanding following..

A heat advantage to the opposition on your shoulders is treated like treason, especially when at home...

And if anything, from what I have seen so far this season, the crowds and expectations are even bigger!

No surprise then to see a drop off when these lads ride in the UK sometimes just 24 hours later..

Agreed...

A great team man, consistent everywhere, however...

The  level of rewards and expectations in Poland now is far and away more intensified than when Leigh rode...

So much live TV, so many blue chip sponsors, huge crowds, and so many young hungry riders busting a gut to take your place and earn the huge rewards on offer to the very best..

Real pressure to perform over there EVERY RACE never mind every week, with a very unforgiving fan base and in turn a very quick to make changes club hierarchy..

Becoming a mini version of the football premier league over here, lots of clubs speculating huge amounts, all desperate to stay in the top league to pay for their spending thru sponsors enticed in by the prime time TV coverage..

Riding in the UK must be a lot different and you can't keep up that intensity.

So here we are again. Another season of whingy, whiny Swindon fans and the same old Reading fan calling for team changes after one match. What a surprise.

Losing by 2 at Wolves is a disappointment, but hardly a bad result for a season opener. Swindon haven't even had a practice yet.

Yes, the botttom end didn't score many, but that is how the side is put together. It's always going to be the top 4 scoring nearly all the points, especially away from home.

Nine from Jason could have been more, perhaps, but he was paid for 11 and it included a 15m handicap for tape touching.

Could Jason still have gone in heat 15 I wonder. His big race mentality might have got us a draw? Hard to judge without being there.

Shocking shocking management from Peter Adams.

Wolves win toss and take 1 and 3. Howarth breaks tapes. He puts him in of 15! He is never going to pass Doyle or Ellis in Heat 1, they both go well at Wolves.

Put Morris in, he can gate and might get amongst them.. plus gets some track time in before Heat 2.

Is the rule also Howarth would start from 4 and the others move over? Not sure if they changed it a year or two back... if that is still the rule even more ludicrous decision.

Masters and Howarth stopped gates, Masters on 1 Howarth on 3 from 15m,agree reserve off 1 the better choice

In the past Lampart hasn’t looked like taking to any track apart from Blunsdon. He struggled everywhere previously.

A bizarre signing by Rosco.

Aaron Summers would have been better.

Hope and expect to shut you up.....for the love of God hope someone or something does!!!!

As to the top four, you're right, that's how the side is built -- you can't have your toffee and your ha'penny as we used to say oop north!

FWIW I thought Shanes raced his heart out and his score certainly doesn't reflect his efforts.

Again FWIW I expected Rosco to go with Batch and Musielak and think it was the right decision given their obvious pace.

For Wolves, RR covered Nick Morris quite well (ditto Nicholls for Thorssell) but obviously you want your first choice seven ASAP.

Becker will rightly garner the plaudits and was hugely impressive -- potentially a very big takent.

Good night's racing.

Is it a disappointment tho? Not many would have expected the Robins to win. I’d say it’s a great result getting a point and keeping it close throughout against one of the more fancied teams this season.

Hans Nielsen, Sam Ermolenko, Tony Rickardsson, Jason Crump. Riders never choose to get beat. Masters not looking like a No.1 Who will go when Thorsell fit?

Thanks for that Red Flag. Not as bad as I first thought.. but as you say, better with a reserve.
