Edinburgh vs Newcastle SGB Champ Shield Good Friday 19 April 19

Hope there is no traffic holdups on the M6 or during the NL meeting as Danny is riding at Belle Vue at lunchtime v stoke (13:00 start). That'll be a 15:00ish finish IF all goes well.

Probably score the same amount of points whether he races at Edinburgh or doesn’t turn up anyway.

With three ex-Monarchs in the side as well as Jorgensen who has started the season well and has had his moments round Armadale this won't be an easy match for Edinburgh. Hopeful that Ricky and Sedgy can step up a gear from last weekend, if they do we should be alright.

49-41 Edinburgh.

This meeting could be decided by the form of Sedgeman. It was a risk to sign him and Edinburgh are not the first, or will be the last, to  try and give him the opportunity to get his career restarted and he has not so far this season. The beauty of Monarchs/Diamonds meetings is that the are both capable of winning at each others tracks. A few years ago I think that happened in a cup meeting. I think we just won at Armadale, and the Monarchs, after getting an early TS ride, went on and took the tie. Could be close is our 3 heatleaders are on form with Max throwing in a good contribution. Here's hoping. Don't forget to stay behind and see a  cracking mini meeting between the Gems and the Dales Devils in a NJL meeting.

Potential banana skin to start of the season, with the likes of wethers, clegg, worrall all ex monarchs and Jorgensen also knowing the quickest way round the dale could be in a bit of trouble especially if we don’t perform to what we are capable of doing.

Need ricky and Sedgy to get going tonight or a home loss could be on the cards.

If we can find the Sedgy of 2014 and 2015 (particularly at home) then we are on to a winner with him at second string. He hasn't shown that form since moving away from Edinburgh so hopefully a return to us can help him rediscover his best.

I remember that cup tie well, a classic! Looking forward to my trip down to Brough Park for the return on Sunday.

Not a bad meeting good weather and close score until Edin pulled away in second half.  Starting to hope Pickering misses the gate every race so exciting to watch.  Newcastle carrying too many passengers with Lambert, Phillips and Bjerre (after his 1st ride was poor). Worrall also going missing at the end.

All the monarchs had their moments but need to start a meeting stronger.

Finally glad season is underway hopefully same weather every week :D

Good result in the end took a bit of time to get going but once we did we were fine. Ricky and sedgy back doing what we know they can do, another classy display from heeps, Joel was solid, willie was rubbish in his first 2 then improved for his last 2 rides still needs to do much better. Ruddick rode very well and should be very pleased with his performance. Special mention to Josh Pickering absolute joy to watch and worth the admission money alone his race with Jorgensen in heat 9 was spectacular.
