Agree. Swindon’s top 5 is strong but they all need to click all the time, otherwise it’s a struggle. Poole proved that with the draw at Blunsdon and looking the better team all night. Swindon’s reserves were completely tailed off against Covatti and Jakobsen. Last night it was the same at Ipswich and Swindon’s reserves again failed to beat an opponent, other than what was gifted. The Robins will struggle without changes and won’t win the league with this lineup.

Swindon haven’t struggled at all so far despite their reserves not scoring well, taking at least a point out of each meeting away from home.

They are the standout team of the season so far.

However will be interesting to see what happens when teams strengthen up later in the season if Swindon respond as well.

With a top 4 performing well they only need 3 or 4 points from each of the bottom 3 to be in with a chance in most meetings this season.

Early days I know but so far no struggles at Swindon.

No struggles at Swindon? Have you seen the scores of the reserves? Hopeless at the moment!

As pointed out yes I have. But as a TEAM Swindon have a point from all away fixtures. No other team has that level of consistency.

Bigger picture and all that.

If you don't believe that Zach will score more as the season go's on, then you know nothing about speedway. Each season he has slowly increased his average.

8 points from your reserves? No chance. Swindon’s problems were laid bare last night. Ipswich don’t have anywhere near the same top end strength but we’re never troubled. Reserves win meetings as Allen proved last night.

You're just a Swindon Troll & you have the nerve to criticize Gavan over Poole. Try being honest for once in your life, it won't hurt you!

In both matches v Swindon the Poole reserves outscored Swindons by 12 points to 2 and then by 12 points to 5 and then didnt win either meeting so it isnt reserves that win meetings at all its the all round strength of the team

At Kings Lynn , Ipswich reserves outscored Kings Lynn by 19 points to 11 and lost the meeting by 14 points....

Excellent post a bit earlier Gav in reply to Steve Shovlar re points of reserves and H/L.

Indeed good reserves important but can't fully cover failing H/L if both score poorly (as evidenced with Poole). Swindon have shown how important H/L strength is already. Win at home with odd wins and 1/2 pointer away and you are in the play offs.

I think Ipswich have surprised a few already and with neither Harris or King fully firing last night they did well to win even if only by 6. When the League is in full swing a win is 3 points be it by 1/2 or 20/25. Away may still be an issue but if they could pinch odd points away then who knows come final play off positions. Can't see many if any winning at Ipswich based on what has happened so far but still very early doors.

Wins at home will also hopefully keep the crowds coming in as very few from any club travel away in the sport these days.

So have Poole. A win, a draw and a 2 point defeat. Better record than anyone else.

Let’s hope he turns it around.

We only need Zach & James to pick up 5/6 points between them per meeting. At this stage they don’t look like doing this however I have every faith that they will get better. Both young English lads trying to make their way. That in itself should be looked at as a positive. Zach is still u21...the other teams do have stronger reserves however our top 5 is  the strongest in the league. We’ve been away to Wolves in the league & lost by 2 points (Our teams first get together & not many sides will run them as close), beaten Poole  at a canter & taken a point at Ippo.

Poole’s draw at Swindon was mainly down to it being an even playing field as the track was an unknown for both teams.I would be surprised if Poole repeat this again at Swindon on the 27th May but lots can happen in 4 weeks! Will Poole be on rider number 9 by then?

You are a fool, if our reserves along with Lampard pick up points we will be ok.Allen last night was outstanding and Heeps has also been pretty good all year ( he was impressive at Swindon).Reserves won't win you meeting's all year because they swap.Swindon if there heat leaders score  even at a minimum we will get an away point Rosco will monitor thing's  if we need a change.

But no other team has lost by 16 at home however. Would be equally as impressive if only your home record didn’t let you down!

A blip due to the track. Last year we were poor at home early in the season but look what happened there. Poole will be there come playoffs. Happy to have a £100 on it with anyone.

Your much better off putting that ton in to the ‘Shale for Wimborne Road’ fund rather than giving it to Brum.
