Stay behind and watch Redcars own Elliot Kelly spearheading the Cubs versus Edinburgh in the NJL after the main meeting. Extra entertainment for your money .:t:

Weather shows no rain forecast , Harris has been track record holder for a few years, looking forward to his races with Charles Wright, if Barker has a bike that is going then he always is good against Harris

Harris has held the track record since October 2009 , must be one of the longest about at the minute ?

Home already after one of the quickest run meetings I've been to at MPA. 15 heats, an interval and 4 grading breaks and all complete in 1 hour 30 minutes (thought it was going to be quicker after the first 7 heats were complete in 30 minutes). Well done to all concerned, other tracks should take note.

Good win for the Bears and a very good team performance with all of the riders (except Tom) getting at least 1 win or paid win. Wright his usual excellent self, Stewart rapidly improving and Ben and MPT with good wins. Jack Smith rode very well too and battles for every point.

The Rebels were a 4 man team - Harris was his usual hard riding self and produced some good passes, Schlein was good until his last ride, Kurtz was fast when he gated and Covatti was solid enough. The other 3 hadn't rode at Redcar before and struggled.

Not a classic by any means but some decent racing. Hopefully 17 points is enough but you never know with the Bears.

Thoroughly enjoyable meeting with the Bears putting in a strong team performance.

Always good to see Bomber racing

Its a very good lead for the Bears to defend. The second leg will be well worth watching.

What Yearby said. A full meeting, 6 second half NJL races and 3 sets of 4 laps by Alex Goldsborough and back in the car for 9:30 - cant argue with that.

Word for the track staff as well, considering the amount of rain on Wednesday and Thursday the track was excellent.

For the Bears, Stewart just gets better and better. Wright was his usual self and MPT looked quick before his scary looking fall. Jack Smith also excellent - not the quickest out there but gates superbly and rides his heart out for all 4 laps.

Somerset obviously looked weak at bottom end. Atkins certainly mixed it but made a couple of mistakes that cost him points. Bomber was superb to watch as always and Schlein and Covatti both mixed it well. Nicely setup for the second leg - would have liked a few more points.

Good result for The Bears tonight, especially as, according to Garry May, we look vunerable at home!

He walked back to the pits under his own steam - was not down for too long so would imagine a couple of days rest and he will be right as rain. Awkward looking fall though.
