Negativity breeds negativity...........why this is when a team is winning? I would hate to read the negativity if the team was losing.

Although it is a good feeling when your team is the winner, it is not the winning that is the important factor,  if you have not been entertained then the win is not the important thing..  Someone noted the racing was better, probably to do with the rain that preceded the meeting,  I would say that the only time the racing is good at Shielfield is when it rained before the meeting.

2018 saw only 2 very good meetings the 1st meeting against Glasgow and the last meeting against Peterborough, both of which were preceded by quite heavy rain the day before.

This sums up the forum for me

It is a Forum, people express their views and thoughts ,don’t think it alters anybody else from actually attending speedway. All sports have them nowadays you don’t have to join if you don’t want too. There are not a lot of fans on this forum these days mainly because they have gave up on the sport for various reasons. They can’t all be wrong. It seems Promoters only want positives to be aired on forums, that why there is so few left to comment.Imo.

There are a lot of fans who still go to speedway, but do not post on this forum. Mainly because it is the same comments over and over again, regardless of what actually happens on track!
Fantastic start to the season, but - in reality - there is absolutely no point posting that on here =D

Seems that it is the place for folk just to have a general whinge and moan, regardless of what is going on in the speedway world.

These people are not fans imo, a proper fan supports the team no matter what if that means supporting a losing team, standing in freezing cold conditions on a Saturday evening, that is the true fan, I mean just take for example the poor buggers that have supported Berwick rangers over the years.

Express their views and thoughts? perhaps should just keep these locked inside their empty heads.

That’s just the forum thought ,my concern is where are the fans disappearing too (or is all the talk about poor crowds untrue) and why.Nobody seems to have the real answer.

To be fair it also had something to do with Danny King, Drew Kemp, Broc Nichol and especially Kyle Howarth as well. Sheffield were the first team to arrive at Shielfield this season with all of the riders willing to get stuck in and race. Newcastle and Glasgow had a couple but were mostly passengers, Edinburgh just couldn't be arsed with the exception of Luke Ruddick. Virtually every point on Saturday was earned the hard way and that led to close racing, errors under applied pressure, crashes, a visiting side comeback. Mind you someone on here reckons it was the worst meeting of the season so far ... Seems you can't please some - or maybe they had their whinge set to auto-publish at 21.05

it appears at the moment, any negativity is from the people who are complaining about the negativity on the forum.  I haven't experienced a great deal of negativity in  recent times  on this forum

The demise of speedway in the UK is not just happening in Berwick, but at nearly every speedway club in the UK,  Berwick has to take  responsibility for it's share in the demise, as all promoters are culpable in it's organisation, or lack of it.  When the cost of running a business outstrips it's income, then it is doomed to fail, it is then incumbent on the business to bring it's cost in line with it's income.  It does however appear that in many cases promoters are increasing the prices it bring themselves in line with their expenditure.  The net result in a very cash strapped society, they have out priced themselves, and it is no longer affordable.  This is the main reason crowds are falling, time to stop blaming the customer and provide what the customer wants to buy at an affordable level.

The main point was I think , that the track was better after heavy rain.  On Saturday cannot comment, as yet again was not in attendance, ..

Couldn't follow meeting on Updates as no Updater, as for the Tweet link IT WAS REALLY REALLY TERRIBLE

I don't mind criticism,  but it would be more helpful if you were to enter into debate, and put forward your ideas to help stop the demise of speedway  not just at Berwick but in the wider context.  It's quite obvious there is a problem, and the longer it persists the more likely that it will  fail, now is the time to get everyones heads out of the sand and be realistic.  Would hate any other club to be where Workington are now

Heavy rain ! ! Shielfield had no heavy rain at all Friday or Saturday, just a very fine misty drizzle on Saturday morning

The sport needs a massive cash investment, that’s the bottom line , the money is not there therefore the product becomes dilute

And did Workington not pay for expensive vans and accommodation etc for their riders ? If so that is just financial suicide
