Still quite a gamble for the Eagles to run Like all Eastbourne home meetings, there is always a strong marketing process: social media and PR plus some other stuff which doesn't hit the headlines. They never rest on their laurels and it seems they rev things up if they suspect the opposition may not be the most attractive. Helped it was a lovely night for speedway -- no damn football to compete --- really just a pleasant evening to go out and watch the racing with your mates, have a cup of tea, a bit of banter, cheer/jeer Danny boy (I cheer) and enjoy yourself. Obviously there is a huge rivalry between Kent and Eastbourne and some Eagles fans thought Danny "acted up" and his celebrations in front of the Kent fans were over the top. Danny won a lot of races so there were plenty of opportunities for people to boo. However, many Eastbourne fans like Danny and appreciate his efforts and showman style. He was, of course, hugely popular all round when he guested for the Eagles.

Just to add: on paper, Scunthorpe were not the best attraction but the meeting was better than the scoreline might suggest. 1000 for a run of the mill home meeting v Scunthorpe - that's excellent crowd!
