Kent v Bellevue Mon 24th

Recommended Posts

I heard but not sure if it was given as the official reason? Ablitt ruled out of the meeting due to concussion? If so thats an automatic 23 day cooling off period for his age bracket. Big miss for the Kings if true?

No race day update on the Kent website this morning, which is unusual. There are a few showers around at the moment, which wasn't in the earlier forecasts.

It's all very quiet no preview from Kent promotion but the gb speedway website includes Ablitt in the line up. I reckon they're out of touch. Be great if they were right though! Anyone going to confirm? We need at least one reserve who can score some points and Clouting is not there yet by a long chalk.

Kent are normally excellent with Press releases. Generally the only time things go quiet is when they are deliberately trying to keep things quiet so it does not affect the gates. The current prospect of a well balanced KOC tie against good opponents could be sunk if Ablitt sits out due to injury and a below par replacement is utilised. Spooner may or may not be able to make it after his van break down (where does the rules stand on that as riders under 18 only can be missing for any reason). It could be nothing or it could be that not only did a black cat cross Len Silvers path but he also kicked it up the bum for good measure.

Nathan has confirmed on Facebook that he is out for potentially 23 days so won't be riding tonight.

Its a tough rule but right to safeguard younger riders. With Nathan unlikely to feature in the Silver Ski Fours its End of July earliest as a sensible return date.

Yes, the rule is absolutely right. Nathan will probably not be happy kicking his heels but it is there for all the right reasons. Get fit soon, Nathan and come back better than ever.

A decent meeting tonight with the kings falling short against a strong Belle Vue side. 15 year old Jake Mulford looked very impressive on his debut, with a sensational ride in heat 4 that brought the house down!

Very enjoyable meeting despite the result going against us. So many young potential future world champions out there between the 2 teams.

It wasnt until I went out to interview the Winning team that i realized that it had been raining for later part of the meeting and quite how wet the whole track was.

Got to say both sets of riders did themselves proud on and off the track and another example of what a great product national league speedway is.

Len must have run over a few black cats, most thought Kent would bulldoze League with Team he started with but hasn't really clicked.

OK they won early comp but that was just fixture fillers , already out of KOC and League would look 3 way fight with BVC and Leicester looking stronger right now.

Time to get the cheque book out Len...

options anyone??...Bowen? / Boxhall ? / Baseby ? / Brennan (when fit again) ? / Kinsley? / Bowtell ?

Is Boxall still on a ban, Bowtell on the orher hand would be a great signing for any NL club.

There is no way Kent supporters would be happy about changing the team, every one of them has been riding they socks off, it just won't happen.

I hope the results from hospital are positive for Jenkins and he is not as badly injured as feared.
