Total and utter tosh.

Compared to Kyle Bickley who had a full season last season in the league, Drew had 7 meetings,

In those 7 meeting Drew scored more points than Kyle points did  from a full season.

H e started the season on a assessed average of 2 due to not done enough meetings to gain an average.

As soon as he gain an average he found himself in the main body of the team, yes he has found it tough, but the lad has stuck at it not given up.

I cannot think of another rider who has moved from a reserve berth to the main body of the team before they were 17 , I don't remember Bewley doing it and Bickley still has the luxury of riding at reserve at Glasgow after over a season in the Championship.

Oh and in the World Under 21 Team Cup he outscore Kyle Bickley, at track that Kyle calls home.

If Drew should not be in Championship then there is a whole host of riders should not be either.

Brennan was 17, he recorded a higher avg than drew before his injury

Same old story from eastie away really, 2,3 and either 6 or 7 struggling.

Kennett has too many away tracks he doesn't like too.

Sounds like barring mishaps the defeat could have been greater.

Every other side struggling is strengthening ………….

Well done to sheffield

Bowtell certainly looked happier on a flat out track like Owlerton than the tight turns at Eastbourne. Very similar to his spell on the island last year.

You obviously missed his crash? Perhaps you were not there.

Crashing like that shows the inexperience.Could have wiped out the rest of his season and also caused collateral damage.

Red mist?

Charles Wright who was awesome last week at Sheffield had a very similar crash at Peterborough last night wiping Dan Bewley out and also injuring himself .Charles has loads more experience so probably he should drop down to the national league ? Josh Bates wiped himself out once again only weeks after taking Broc out so I don't think you can say it's a lack of experience. The bikes and tracks are unpredictable and when you see Drew every week you would see he's one of the safest riders around for his age.Had he been reserve all season he would have had more confidence and a shed load more points. On Sunday he wasn't over riding but was caught out with the track as were Wright and Bates last night.

Precisely what I was thinking when I was watching last night too!  Plenty of experienced riders have crashed on the slow down.

If it was the end of heat 6 'crash' which is being referred to, after racing to the line Drew was on the outside of Alfie and then he had to avoid Lawson who was slowing on the first bend after crossing the line. That appeared to unbalance him and rather than crashing he appeared to fall off before his bike 'crashed' into the air fence!

Drew showed a little more commitment on Sunday than in his last couple of appearances at Owlerton and his gate and line in heat 8 was great, perhaps he should use his 'second' bike more  often at Sheffield.

More to the point what happened to Ben Morley on Sunday, he wouldn't have scored at all if Josh hadn't had the mechanical problem at the start of heat 8. Did he tire himself out at Stoke the night before?

Ben Morley "Nil" (away in CL) should be a Jasper Carrot joke re-write!

All riders should "ride out" bends 1&2 after crossing the finish line rather than just shutting off (or shutting off ten yards before it) to prevent these kind of instances, same as restarts let the riders complete the first turn then bang the red lights on. So often do you see some riders shut off without thinking if any riders behind have done the same thing.

agree, you see a few “ near misses” after checkered flag.

exactly the last thing any rider wants after busting a gut for 4 laps is to suffer a bike up the #rs£ injury after the race is finished.

I think in all honesty there was no way the promotion were heading to Sheffield expecting any level of result in much the same way that the Tigers will deem chances of a point at Arlington unlikely.  Its no secret that Ben is no expert on larger tracks and now the Championship seems to have more on the bigger side its more apparent than ever.

seems they just did - top prospect signed although I suspect with an eye on next season and brings them craftily below points limit - may be something else being lined up?

Must be something else lined up? No disrespect to Jason but swapping a 4+ point averaged rider for a 2.00 is an odd switch at best, add in that Jason could now get saddled with an average for next season unless the situation is carefully managed.....another team Hagon rider to join the ranks next?
