Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

Having recently read a 2 page spread in Speedway Star about the excellent Community Programme at Arlington seems Eastbourne need no lessons from anyone on promoting family sport.

Speedway Star this week states over 3000 first time young visitors to Arlington this season, I bet even Barry Bishop would welcome that!

Glasgow too very keen to market a "family sport"

Craig Cook should note that!

Just look at the number of kids/families in the crowd

absolutely I would welcome 3000 or 300 or 30... as long as we are all going in the right direction. My only note of caution is this, bringing first time visitors is great, truly it is, but the really question that needs answering is of the 3000 how many returned? We have a system that we know if they return or not and in general every time we have a class, Scout Group or whatever, we have a hit... in that someone returns and pays to get it.

This may be slightly out of context, But does IOW speedway/stadium run at a profit or loss? ie does the speedway actually wash its face or is there a separate 'Bishop fund' to assist the bottom line?

Cook, Vissing, Kennett all banned for 10-12 days

https://www.scbgb.co.uk/news.php?extend.86.1

The implication of that is that if cook did not have previous form in terms of assaulting  Track Officials, he would have received same punishment as Kennett and Vissing.

I'd argue from what I've seen that Cook's actions were pre-meditated by events of previous 90 minutes, Vissing acted like an idiot all night and Kennett over reacted to seeing Cook's attack om Marshall.

I would suggest if 10 days is the entry level that Cook is very lucky not to get 20+ days.

No mention of any sanctions against Dugard or Eastbourne's failure to control their track staff.

During this time we have Leicester B home and away this weekend with Leicester away on the Saturday. Guest choices will need to be wise. Perhaps Chazzer Wright could do us a turn for Friday and Sunday. A small track specialist definitely required for Saturday. I was going to say Danny King but there's no way Damo would allow that.

Remains to be seen if the Glasgow riders appeal, at which point they should still be able to ride until the appeal is heard.

I very much doubt that is even a thing. It’s barely a thing in football where I assume you’ve got the  wording from.

And it wasn’t track staff doing the fighting anyway was it. Hangers on and riders were throwing the punches.

If anything I would imagine the clerk of the course would have some questions to answer for letting the whole thing get out of control.

Failing to control their track staff.. Flippin eck.
