Kings Lynn stars v Ipswich witches 5th Aug

Recommended Posts

Good win for Stars. They certainly bullied the Witches out of the points . Hawkins getting irate with Jorgensen livened things up a bit. Some good races tonight with plenty of passing. Best meeting I have seen this season. Hope Heeps isn't to hurt and will be back on a bike soon.

If, as Shovvy is suggesting bubbles have burst then Poole should be taking the Witches to the cleaners on Thursday.

Ippo reserves can actually ride the Poole track though, maybe it is in better condition :)

Congratulations to kings lynn. Thoroughly deserved win. They certainly were up for it.

Hope cam is ok.  Danny was brilliant tonight and Lawson put in plenty of effort but as for the rest of em.   Pah

kennett and kp gave up at the back 3 times each. Coming last I can tolerate but not trying is unacceptable.  Both need to either try or leave the club. It’s just not on.

The first performance/result of the season that can be described as woeful. Only Dannys resistence prevented a total humiliation

Marred even more by Cams visit to the ambulance. Fingers crossed for him

Fair play to Lynn - attacked hard from the start and deserved winners

Disappointing to see Ipswich riders giving up so easily and trailing behind. Could be reported for not trying or not even look as if they were trying. KLS were up for it and went out determined. Hope Cameron will be ok. What should have been a cracker of a meeting turned out to be a damp squib apart from Danny King. Great 10+1 from R/R for Robert Lambert.

Well very happy with that result. Before the meeting was expecting a very close match with possibly an Ipswich win at the end.But all the Lynn riders seemed in determined mood to get the job done and boy did they do it.It set the tone for the match with a 5-1 in the first ht.

MPT is certainly showing his liking for our track now i can't believe how fast he is around the NA and he seems to overtake for fun sometimes.

There was some great racing last night especially from Toft and Jorgensen.

Bit of argy bargy from the pits as well when Ipswich felt aggrieved with the Heeps incident, all added to the atmosphere though.Although Jorgensen had already got by Heeps who then fell on his own.Hope Heeps is ok and it was all precautionary.Hope he is ok to help Ipswich go and destroy Poole on Thursday:rolleyes:.

Thought it was a very good crowd last night.

Onwards and upwards, and hope to see Lambert back soon and lets hope Cook will still be free to carry on his speedway duties:t:

Apparently Bomber blew an engine and had a clutch burn out on him last night. Not the luckiest of evenings.

Unlike a lot on hear I never saw this as anything else than a home win.   R/R was the obvious choice for Lambert when we have capable riders  taking his rides..  The grippy track is not to everyone liking and guests could have struggled.    Expecting Lynn to win, but thought the Witches  would put up a bigger fight than they did. There is no excuse for coming last 12 out of the 15 races .    Apart from Danny King and a few glimpses of Bomber, the rest were poor.    How they have been up at the top of the league for the whole season  is a massive surprise  when they perform like that.

Besides being one sided, this wasn't a bad meeting, with Lynn showing more fight and determination than usual.     The track was still too grippy. Although there were some overtaking.  Any thoughts Ipswich may have had before the start of putting on a show, went soon as when the racing started.    I felt they were beaten by the track as much as they were by the opposition..

If Ipswich want to figure prominently in the Play-offs they need to strengthen their squad... Their reserves were woeful...

Like many on here, they and I commented before the match thinking it will be tight and could go anyway.

But unlike many on here you commented after the meeting. It's so much easier to predict how it's going to go after it's happened:wink::t:

Great racing probably because we did not have tractor racing every 4 races

Well, most of the season the Witches have had more than one rider turn up, definitely not the case last night!

Lynn were certainly on the ball and fully deserved the win.

A few comments to make though.

After the track walk some of the dirt was dragged off taking away any potential outside grip, inside line was the way to go and Witches didn't adapt, but that's what home track advantage is all about.

Although there didn't appear to be any contact between Jorgensen and Heeps in heat 5 he certainly dive bombed Cam and gave him nowhere to go. Hence the fall and exit in an ambulance. Home fans cheering always disappointing.

Small disagreement between some of us ensued, nuff said.

Maybe we have been punching above our weight this season and bubble now burst a bit, most of  the riders now need to take a good look at themselves, regroup and start again to prevent any potential slide.

Side issue, a social media video of Mr Cooks incident at Eastbourne became available last night, how is he not banned after riding into and headbutting a member of trackstaff at the meeting?

Unbelievable!
