Scorpions v Birmingham 09.08.19

Recommended Posts

If Laurence had made the change that you think he should have, then we would not have been able to use Garrity as a tactical substitute in the following race in which we scored the first of the two successive 5-1's which put us into the lead!

Oh well rather then slag off our team manager well done to Brum for getting first away point of the season and all riders chipping in with valuable points

Fair play Brummies… Rode a decent meeting, congrats on the draw.

Scunny only themselves to blame.. should've won by a canter but simply gifted too many points away.

Unlucky heat 15, when on a 5-1 Ben Barker sheds a chain and is spat off the bike gifting Brummies a draw. Curse of the number 1 position continues for us. It was obvious to one and all Jason would take loads of points from this meeting to show Rob the error of his ways.

Bright note was young Ryan Kinsley showing his gating skills and his liking for riding the fence.

This should have been a Scorpions win. Our worse meeting of the season!   Tonight Scorps were not at the races!. Josh and Ryan well done. Great to see Ryan ride the outside line. I think his best meeting to date. Bad luck for Ben  when Scorps was in a 5.1 position  to win the meeting.

Shanes did replace Agertoft in heat 11 & probably Jenkins in 12 but as you were 6 points behind, your TS was used instead.

A texter texts what he sees & hears. In heat 5 Nielsen hit a rut(bend 3-4 which others also hit) & not locked up, heat 11 as said, Shanes replaced Agertoft & heat 15 Barker was under pressure but it did not get to him, he snapped a chain.

Rob now prepares the track how he thinks it should be prepared, a bit on the slick side which means not a lot of dirt is sent mid to outer track on the bends. This leads to NO tractor racing/remedial work which takes up time & is a bug bear for most supporters around the country.

At the talk ins, the riders have expressed a need for more dirt to get the attacking outside lines going & last night the riders said maybe a bit too much dirt got put down that caught the riders out in racing & set-ups. It shows how difficult it is to prepare a track with the weather & also, to suit everyone. Maybe a private session would have been beneficial to adapt to the different conditions for the riders maybe on the Thursday & stop over or early Friday afternoon, similar to what Eastbourne did for Bowtell & Edwards last Saturday.
