It is if the said rider is not supposed to be on track under power with spectators on the infield.

Since when has it said anywhere in the rule book an official's duties should include walking in front of a rider under power and obstruct him?
Common sense tells you you don't do that - the guy was being an officious idiot.

The flag Marshall was under instruction to stop the out of control Cook, Vissing and other rider from coming around and riding in front of the other riders who were still being introduced to the crowd, along with members of the public who were also trackside.

The Marshall is a hero from stopping potential carnage.

The marshall nearly caused carnage handbag stuff really it give the crowd some extra entertainment though.

It's a difficult one to which to apply consistent rules. As a former racer on the grass, I witnessed many confrontations between racers after a tough race. You know, handbags at dawn. The respective crews pulled them apart and two hours later everyone had a beer together.

The sight of crews wading into the fight along with riders not directly involved is not one I find acceptable or equivalent to the situation I describe above. The former warrants a ticking off by the team manager, the latter, an intervention by the authorities as we see here. Due process. You take the law into your own hands (and someone will be recording it, that's for sure) and the authorities will throw the book at you. Never mind what the real reason for you being upset in the first place, violence won't be tolerated.

often think fining footballers is pointless but with uk speedway a 3k fine for each on top of their leniant bans might make them behave in future, think the eastbourne mindset has been for many years  "at arlington we do what ever we want"

The entrance to the pits is half way down the back straight, meaning the three riders would have had to have ridden past the riders who were still being introduced! There were families by the riders!

Wasn’t ~Eastbourne who caused this. Though Eddie should have kept his beak out of it.

So if i'm driving down a one way street full of pedestrians and a policeman jumps in front of me to avert potential carnage, its the policeman's fault :o

It would be if cars didn’t have any brakes!!

His job is NOT to wave a red flag on the track or walk in front of a rider under power!

What is the job of someone at a track with a red flag??

So Cook misses 16th 17th and 18th for Glasgow and then 15th 19th and 22nd for Kings Lynn.

Vissing misses 16th 17th and 18th for Glasgow and 15th for Swindon

Kennett misses 15th for Ipswich and 16th 17th 18th for Eastbourne

That's if the ban is for all racing and not subject to a sub clause that means it only applies to the CL

The exit from the track was just past where the steward was waving his flag, which was where the filming was done, not half way down the straight.   Cook should have stopped but the steward should not have moved in front of a bike with no brakes.
