Thorsell, the Swedish champion, scored 1,1,1,1 and 0. How is that not shocking? He best Wells, Douglas, Douglas and THJ.

Morris got 11 from 7 not exactly a brilliant return as he got 3 in 15, which arguably had Schlein not been injured could be 8 from 6.

Thorsell never goes well at Poole so not shocking Morris scored well and got some vital points.

Well done Wolves outgated outrode us, they are a very good team, always looked a good team but riders that struggled earlier in the season due to coming back from injuries are now going well. As for us Holder got 16 for his team in Swedish play offs what happened. Klindt superb as usual this season, reserves awful.

Not bad for a team that you reckoned wouldn’t get anything from the meeting eh FB? ;)

Thorsell and Morris were not shocking this time! As I said before the meeting r/r for Howarth would be marginally stronger.

Thorsell scored 4 not a good return for a heat leader

Morris had 7 rides to get 11 points....inflated maybe by heat 15, which in all honesty he would never have been in if Schlein was fit.

R/R was marginally stronger which is what i said but in no way did that cost Poole the meeting

If Poole fail to win the league its clear evidence that Matt Ford doesnt care anymore.....Poole the team that make more changes then any other team every season, cant make one change to replace Worrall and put Covatti at reserve

Matt Ford simply doesnt want to pay out anymore

To lost at home to 5 riders is very poor

Poole won when Iversen was there last week. I still don't like the rule whoever uses it. Swindon fans are sensitive bunch!

Morris had a 0 and the end of a 5-1 in heat 10.

Beat THJ twice and Wells twice....and was fortunate to beat Klindt in heat 15.

He managed to beat Covatti and Holder as well

Thats Pooles biggest issue not having a reserve than can trouble the other teams second strings......

Against Swindon the other week Pooles reserves got 15 and they won by 2..............can you see THJ and Wells doing that?

Certainly gone full circle. You can’t win meetings without scoring reserves and tonight proved it!

I said as soon as Howarth was missing that Wolves were far stronger and so it proved. They surely want him to stay injured because as a team they will score far more points. Paid 9 from his rides.

Of course the reason Wolves won is because they outscored Pooles reserves by 1 point (gifted in heat 2) to paid 21. A massive gap the Poole top five couldn’t cover. In fact no team could cover that. Becker was excellent as he was last visit. Both he and Douglas had Wells and THJ for breakfast. Whilst the latter can be slightly excused as it was his first meeting, Wells has gone from bad to worse. In fact he never looked close to a point. THJ did have one go in heat 14 which he led for a lap before coming under pressure and then falling.

Best bet is to now get rid of Wells for what is left of the season. While we can’t replace him, we can use horse for course guests which is surely likely to do better.

Really though there was only one team in it and from the start Wolves were faster out of the starts. On a slick track we couldn’t make an impression. A bit of pirate pride kicked in to close the gap but were were always found wanting whenever we had a reserve in a heat.

In heat 15 we needed a 5-1 to draw but Brady completely missed it and Klindt made two errors to allow the Wolves riders through. The correct result to be honest. Well done to Wolves. A A Formidable force.

Maybe on this rare instance you'd had been better off sticking with R/R for Worrall? Haven't looked at averages but you've lost Covatti as a weapon at reserve? What do you think Steve?

Umm, you do know that Wells got 6+4 of that 15 don't you?

Edit - acc to the Poole website they got 16 paid 22, Covatti 10+2 and Wells 6+4.

Although Swindon reserves are obv a tad weaker.

The issue with r/r for Worrall was that only Josh, Nico and Wells could take the rides.  r/r at 2 meant that Nico would usually take 2 of the rides so to have him in the main body of the team at 2 shouldn't make a whole lot of difference. The worry was if he/we had an off-night - or another injured rider - in the play-offs then winning would prove too difficult.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though - and who knows who may have an off night or exceed expectations in the play-offs?

So Danny Ford says it was all due to complacency that Poole lost because their place in the play-offs was almost secure,C,mon fella show some respect, and give credit where credits due.Your,e making it sound like the home riders didn't try.

Def need to have a no8 on standby if you are using r/r. Wolves got away with it last night cos of Becker's form!
