Glasgow v Berwick , CL 6/9/19@19-30

Recommended Posts

So this is the starter dish before the much awaited Saturday double header .

We have to bounce back after last Saturday's lamentable performance and it won't be easy against a Bandits side full of Ashfield specialists .

Will THJ remember where Scotland is on a Friday now ? Which Ben Barker will turn up to guest for the Bandits ? And will we show a bit more fight than we did last week . If we get a dry day tomorrow , we'll find out .

I hope he finds some better form after tonight's row of duck eggs at Poole. :o

Interesting to see that Cami Brown didn’t seem to think that last week meeting should have went ahead ,this weeks weather is similar what chances it will be on ,riders won’t like it.

I think if we hadn't had such a backlog , then the meeting last week wouldn't have went ahead . And that's the worry , if the same attitude is apparent tomorrow evening , then we'll be there for the taking

In your opinion ,was the track unfit or was it just the riders, you have seen a lot of speedway!!!.The race times were normal IMO.

Current forecast on just about every weather site is rain tonight, lighter rain during morning, dry after 2pm.   Sunny but cold  (13C) in evening.

Some of the times were in the 56's , so that doesn't suggest the track was really unfit . And the likes of Jake Allan , Ben Barker and Josh Auty didn't seem phased by it .

Obviously it wasn't perfect given the amount of rain that had fallen on it on the days leading up to the meeting , but last week's heavy defeat had more to do with our mindset regarding the track , rather than the condition the track was in

Too many riders want a perfect track these days, it’s meant to be dirt track racing not road racing.Im seriously pi##ed off with sport these days  ,gate and go racing ( although best meetings I have seen have been at Glasgow),which is my problem ,but it means less income for Promoters.

I know nothing about track preparation. What I do know is that last week the action on the track bore no resemblance to the racing we had enjoyed prior to the 4 week break. And I don't say that cos we lost. There was nothing entertaining about last week and if it became typical of the speedway on offer I wouldn't be back.

The problem was last week the riders had to "ride" the track rather than just go flat out and turn left at end of straight it was packed that tight with little loose dirt todays riders just cant handle anything that isnt super slick.

I think Berwick might end up feeling the backlash from the Scunny result tonight. Pride was wounded in that meeting - and I think the riders would have been left in no doubt that a response to that is required.

Hard meeting to call. If the Rebels get nowt from Armadale tonight and we do it makes it very interesting. I’d like to think our boys have been told to go shee-ite or bust whilst it is still mathematically possible!
