So with all the money 'already on the table' you have to ask why then is Matt Ford asking Poole fans to vote what they want to do?

This money cant be enough to help Poole speedway or there would be no need for Matt Ford to ask the fans what they think..............he would be welcoming in the new money and stating that Poole will be top league

This just seems to me that there are much bigger issues at Poole then......................as you say a team may move up, so why would the sports most successful club of recent times even be considering the thought of dropping down?

the bigger issue is that matt is still trying to sell the club.which seems nobody wants

WITH a new TV deal, including money, already on the table cannot see Poole or any other of the current PL teams dropping down. More likely that at least one CL track will move up.

Agree, think you should take what MF says with a pinch of salt! A 75% saving dropping to CL is nonsense. If that was the case all clubs would be in CL...!!!

Somerset dropped back down last season because of costs, so who knows what Matt Ford is thinking !

If any team wanted to drop down - it’s not a foregone conclusion and they would need to be accepted into that league.

Do you really think that if a club said they were dropping down (to economically preserve their long-term future) that the BSPA would say, no you have to stay in your current league (and therefore close!)?

That wouldn't surprise me the BSPA seem to be living in their own little world and not the real world

There are some right idiots on here. Running a team in the CL is not 75% cheaper than PL. It is 25% cheaper, 75% of the costs!

Correct

What Ford is saying is that if it costs £1000 to run in the top league its costs £750 in the lower league.............not £250

That’s fine to say the outgoing costs are 25% less what he fails to mention is how diluted the income will be.  Gates, lower admission, sponsorship, corporate, share of BSPA events etc.

The way I read that is that the CL costs about 75% compared to PL therefore costs are 3 quarters the top level figures

That would seem more realistic to me given many costs (rent, insurance, track maintenance  etc) are pretty much fixed whichever league

Rider points costs perhaps halved therefore an overall reduction of 25% looks a realistic position

Then when less than 75% of the current crowd show up due to the drop in league..

Indeed but thats where the promotion have to show their worth.

When the Witches switched there were similar concerns but crowds actually stabilised and then increased  due to what was a more consistent offering

Granted being more competitive than we had been for some time is very likely to have had as positive an impact as any other factor

Regarding the track, there is a rider who doesn't agree with you! Hans Andersen! He says a rider who has issues with it is just speaking 'hot air.' Wasn't surprised by his comments tbh as when he was a Poole rider he did say the 'bumps' and 'ruts' were just home advantage! Also said if they made it smoother they would make it easier for other teams to win there!

Edit - he only said this last week btw!

Looking for a team place maybe :)  #optionsopen

2 questions that don't seem to have been considered but I'm sure will be a major item at the AGM -

1.  If Poole choose Championship, how many other SGBP teams might also drop?

2. If the new TV deal is with Eurosport as rumoured, what level of meetings will they wish to cover live?!  ie will it only be SGBP meetings?

When they showed speedway before they showed a few Championship meetings, some of which were as good or even better than the top league.
