King's Lynn Stars 2020

In an ideal world I’d want the same but not sure who would fit the bill on that average.

Unfortunately while the rules don’t insist on British reserve(s) then teams will build as strong as they can regardless of nationality.

I guess you could argue signing Hartel isn't building a strong team though!

If Hartel will be a Lynn asset I can understand (though not agree) with his signing, I he belongs to Ipswich then it's a strange signing!

Hartel deserves a chance, but I would of probably gone with Spud Summers, who knows all the tracks  from the off, and would be a a very solid reserve.

Looking at the finished team, i'm  not impressed tbh. TJ, Erik and Lewis averaged just 13.18 between them on the road, but a big 21.68 at home. What do they do... Keep them all. Replace MPT with Ty and bring in Hartel. Looks like they have no ambition at all. The engine room will be the problem again away from the AFA.

Away from home, if Lambert and Cookie get 20 between them( they didn't last season), Erik, TJ and Lewis get last seasons 13, that's 33 from the top 5. Don't leave us much chance on the road.. again.

Our top 2 are ok and the reserves should be ok, with  scope to change  if needed. For me it's the engine room again... I hope i'm proved wrong, but I was bang on before a wheel had turned last season, in saying the Stars will get nothing on the road.

I will still go,  pick n choose my meetings, and I wish them all the best.

I'll try and cheer up by this evening ;)

The 1-7 isn’t the team I would have picked but at the end of the day surely it’s not just about wether the averages fit but if the finances fit as well.
I’m not having a go at what other supporters think the team should have been but no one knows what the club has had to pay to secure the services of both Robert and Cookie and surely there has to be a limit as to what the club can pay out in wages.
Personally if it was a choice of spending silly money and winning the league or have what I call a reasonable team and be still have a team to support every week I would chose reasonably good team every time.

Having said it’s not the team I would have picked I do believe that every rider can easily up their 2019 average and I’ll be there every week supporting the team 100%

Stars will need Lambert to average 9+ and Cook 8+ to even stand a chance for top 4.

I disagree about the weakest team so far though, with completed teams I'd say Belle Vue are. Kildermand won't offer them anything and Kurtz as a No1? No thanks

Most certainly underwhelming apart from Lambert and Cook

Belle Vue the weakest?

What have you been smoking?

Which two teams are they out of interest?

Swindon and Belle Vue, who are the teams to beat imo.

I think the thing with this Lynn team is that we already know what will happen. Proctor was absolutely woeful last season, Jorgensen and Kerr were useless on the road.

That middle order is piss easy to get at and they don't have a strong enough top 3 to bail it. With the introduction of the German, questions can now also be asked about the quality they have at reserve.

There is a reason that the away form for KL was so poor last season, and essentially those riders have been re-recruited. Indeed, the one that should have stayed has gone!

Quite honestly I think it's a diabolical team and depending on the completion of the Peterborough team I fully expect the stars to be propping up the division.

I’d agree they are the teams to beat but it wouldn’t surprise me if we went through the card at home, the side is stacked with Lynn specialists.

The hope of course is that the middle order rides like they did in 2018 and not 2019. There is a lot of reliance on Proctor to get back to being a 6+ rider.

What we have to remember is, it is the team you finish the league with rather than the one you start with (Swindon 2019). However the key issue here is that changes are made soon enough to rectify any deficiencies.

Wouldn’t be overly concerned by people’s predictions on here, they’re always pretty woeful tbf. Rewind 12 months ago and Ipswich were being slaughtered for having “the worst top flight team ever”.

Seems some never learn :D

Don't think anybody said they had the worst ever. this years team looks competitive and should easily make the play offs whereas Kings Lynn look like they may struggle especially away.

Agree with most of it. I wouldn't call diabolical though, but the lack of ambition is there for all to see.

Col did, and a fair few others were also pretty scathing. TBF I wasn’t impressed pre season either and I also thought we’d have a struggle to avoid the wooden spoon. My point is most people’s predictions on here are usually way off, and I include myself in that! It’s all a bit of fun. Lynn do have the benefit of having a real home comforts track. All clubs have a home advantage for sure, but Lynn is always a difficult place to get a result from despite the team strengths. As Bagpuss says, wouldn’t surprise me to see them unbeaten all season there.
