Lambert signs in sweden for 2021 so if polish rule applies not riding at LYNN !!

you cannot blame the riders going for riding in Europe. put the blame on Poland for their selfish attitude to World Speedway.

Certainly damage could be done to the overall standard of the Premier league.

premier league had a cut/off last season end of august to stop clubs getting the likes of wooffinden did in 2016 for wolves and the polish season doesn't end until sept so it will rule that out

not in the slightest you obviously felt you needed it instead of being loyal to the riders you started with !! it's all about  morals but that goes out of the window with Adams !! but no one will be able to do it again which is good for sport !! only injuries will allow change now proper injuries that is !! not like poole used to feign !! another team which went against morals look where they are now !!

Interesting article on the British Speedway website today about Erik Riss wanting to stay at Kings Lynn for next year. They are quoted as saying he isn’t effected by the new restrictions limiting starts in other country as he doesn’t compete in the Polish league - although he’s signed for German side Wittstock who actually compete on the Polish 2nd Division! Somebody should probably let Buster know....

polish 1st & 2nd division are allowing 2 other leagues !! the main polish extraliga are only allowing 1 league that's the difference !!

I’m well aware of that - he is still effected then by only being allowed to ride in 3 divisions.

Blame the poles? More like blame the UK authorities who have mismanaged the sport over the past 30 years the result being the frail sport you see in the UK today.

It's many years since British Speedway had crowds like Poland, can you remember the last 5k-10k crowd at your club?  The seventies for King's Lynn .....

IMO the novelty of speedway started to wear off with our population in those years to where it is now, Poland will probs be the same as their country grows ...... the only thing that may keep the Polish people supporting their clubs longer is their obvious patriotism .......

When/if Poland become an also ran nation at the very top level then domestic interest will start to wain..

Just like happened to the UK, and then Denmark at different times, when they started to drop down the rankings after a long period of dominance..

Sweden too, domestically enjoyed their biggest crowds when Tony R and the rest were winning World Champs individually, and collectively winning WTC's..

Poland though will know this and will ensure by keeping protected places in their domestic line ups for Poles that they can help ensure they don't make the mistakes the UK in particular made all those years ago by allowing the UK riders to become the minority over here in many teams..

It doesn't matter how many times Leszno (or any team) win the title over there, succesful Polish riders and teams at international level drives all the TV coverage, sponsorship and follow on domestic interest from the fans..

They will have seen how "not to do it" and I am sure not make the same mistakes...

The main difference between the UK and Poland is they have been attracting huge crowds for well over 40 to 50 years and the sport is embedded in those communities much like football is over here.

Ipswich had crowds in excess of 5k for the play off and Cup finals in recent seasons and I seem to remember a couple of good Friday meetings vs Lynn in the early 90s attracting crowds in access of 5k. However getting those numbers regularly mid 80s I would guess.

It was always expected the sport would end up like  like it has.  The punters have always been regarded as mugs, where the  promoters and riders think only of themselves.   Rather then focus on the bigger picture as to why the fans are drifting away,  their answer has always been to increase the cost of admission .  Thinking back to those years when speedway was a full house, even then the stadiums was in desperate need of repairs.  Some of the toilets were atrocious.  Not fit for the purpose.

When I see on the television those wonderful stadiums in Poland  I marvel at the vast spectators in those wonderful appeasing vantage points, protected from the elements  so enabling to be dressed in casual clothes,  you then realise how far behind   we have been for years.   We are expected to go to our dated stadiums, pay top dollar,  get  mediocre racing,  watching meeting that dragon for hours.   Its little wonder  this sport has all but died....
