I can think of 2 clubs that should have equipment to borrow should there be any delay in replacing their own.

Scumbags hope they get caught saying that even if they do knowing the justice system in this country they would only get fined about about 10 percent of the damage they caused.

It's a sad reflection on how modern society has regressed to a point where we can excuse the actions of such scum as being due to "boredom" because of coronavirus frustration, and that we now have no effective method of dealing with people who care nothing about the after effect of their actions.

As a lifelong Birmingham Supporter and ardent speedway enthusiast, I am cheered by the positive response to this devastating news - especially from those generous people who are followers of other clubs but still care enough about Birmingham's predicament to donate to the fund. Thank you - all of you.

Was it just the speedway equipment that was vandalised? If so then that sounds a bit sinister.

Would the damage not be covered by insurance?

old tractors and water bowser are hard if not impossible to insure ...and if they were the premium would be more than their worth if you could find an insurer to take on the risk

There are specialist insurers (I used to work for one) who would happily insure equipment like this. The premium isn’t much either. It might get a bit more difficult once you have claims of vandalism so, as you say, the premium becomes unreasonable.

With the CCTV and 24 hour security patrols that the adjacent construction site employs, I'm astounded that any vandals would want to be anywhere near Perry Barr right now. It takes their state of mindlessness to another level.

That is not true - I have been involved in getting insurance for a modified tractor against fire and theft that is about 35 years old for around £350 per year.

If you or GWC can sort Speedway fan out an insurance policy for the replacement equipment, I'm sure that the premium can be funded out of another GoFundMe appeal.
