Ayres CL ave is 5.51... converts to 3.44

Its not at the bottom end that we need a rider.... its the number 1 that we need to sign. Maybe for a 2nd year running we will borrow someone else's before the season starts?

Not as though there is anyone else...

More than happy with Ayres as long as he has a  more established reserve partner (Nico?)

If you have never rode in premiership you start on a 4.

That's why nicol is on a 4 and todd kurtz

4 is the minimum for a foreign rider.

Nicol and Kurtz are on a 4 because they are foreigners not because they haven't ridden PL , Ayres would come in on his converted CL average. No foreigner can go below 4 in PL.

If we’ve signed Ayres on 3 and a half, then I’d say we’ve managed to sign a number 1.

Otherwise we’d surely have gone with strong 5 pointer reserves like last year..

Not sure how Ayres will stack up against other weak reserves, as I've only seen him a couple of times, and he loved throwing the bike into the fence. That was a few years back though, and not long after he started. From what I've seen, he does seem a keep it pinned balls out trier,  so another entertaining rider,,, let's hope the track prep is more suitable for racers this time.

Maybe not a number 1, but a 7 pointer ish? Can't really think of many off the top of my head, so maybe we have pulled off a blinder like Vaculik,
