Split Waterman RIP

Souf London legend at New Cross and Wimbledon. Me ole man used to tell me about him riding for Wembley. Pwoper naughty geezer.

Saw him ride many times, mostly at New Cross....quite the character....and as someone said earlier, would make a good film about his life.

Given his extra-curricular activities, it would probably need someone like Tarantino to make the film, which would no doubt be x-rated!

Not sure his couple of months at Plough Lane makes him a club legend. He shone elsewhere in his career

Indeed, iris. His best days were at Wembley and Harringay. Much more of a North London legend.

That's also a moot point. New Malden only became part of South London in 1965,long after Split was born and after his speedway career had finished :P:P
