Max said after the closure of stoke and cradley not running he didn’t want to do NL and concentrate all his efforts on Newcastle, that’s not to say he won’t ride in the trophy meetings for them now..he’s pretty close to dave Tattum as well.

GET HIM SIGNED UP AS THE NUMBER 1 Forgot about Kelsey... Good shout, although if he's spannering for Nick and Nick is in Heat 15... It'll be a bit tight for Kelsey will it not? Wouldn't say 3.35 is a bargain, but he'd be a solid reserve imo... When was the last time he rode Brough? Don't recall him doing second halves? Dean is not ready imo... He should stick to the NJL for sure... No offence to him but it would be like Danny in the CL... In the deep end too soon, and he'd get nowhere There is no maximum Championship ave to stop a rider racing in NL, only rule is you can only sign ONE rider who has averaged above 4.00! So technically Edward Kennett could double down in NL (will never happen I know)! Edited January 16, 2020 by szkocjasid

NB. Where a rider has both a previous PL/SGBC and NDL MA, the highest will apply.

It was in response to some suggesting he should ride for the Gems team.. Simple really he shouldn't be in the NL anymore we need to avoid riders who aren't ever going to make it passed Reserve/Second String using the NL to prop themselves up, That league should be for improving youngsters

Youngsters thrashing around without guidance will take a lot longer to get where they want to be. If a group of youngsters are getting thrashed by full strength opponents at home, it doesn't please the home crowd who might withdraw their support as some fans insist on a victory whenever possible. Old hands can give advice with riding lines and bike preparation, and also give the give team a lift with their encouragement and experience.

Totally agree, however when does a youngster become an old hand or when does an old hand become to old. Blurred lines

The effect of the rule is that any rider with a CL average of over six would have a converted NDL average of over twelve so would be ineligible.
