Not looking likely - Riders in the Polish Extraleague can only ride in one other league outside of Poland. I can't see Nicki Pedersen dropping the Swedish league or Danish League.

Presumably add Doyle, Lambert and Iversen to that list too.

Doyle and Lambert for sure. Iversen is likely to be in Division 1 in Poland where for some reason they are allowed into 3 leagues including the Polish League. Still no guarantees on him riding in Britain though when you add in Sweden and Denmark too.

Jack Holder and Jaimon Lidsey are others it could also effect. Could also rule the likes of Dan Bewley out of Sweden or over here too.

The poles tried this before and came unstuck same will happen again.

I get the feeling they may dig their heels in abit more this time. Everybody has been based in Poland this year, there has been very few people missing due to getting injured abroad so you can hardly blame them.

They've also made the point that riders could always opt out of Poland and ride in as many leagues as they like... What's the bets they don't?

why? Speedway riders are unusual in that they are not contracted solely to one club like almost every other sport. No club is obliged to employ someone who doesn't play by the stated rules of any given league. Don't see how that restricts them. Lawyers could argue otherwise but let's face it if you pay a lawyer enough then they would be prepared to argue that Tuesday follows Sunday and Monday doesn't exist.

It's legal to put whatever clauses you like in your contract, the riders are not forced to agree; they can choose not to sign and ride elsewhere. Of course, realistically if they want to make any money they don't have any other viable options. So whilst not illegal, it might be immoral.

Poland doesn't have much use for EU law only when it does something for them 

As the Polish President said 'if the EU think they are going to tell us what to do they can think again'. 

That was something to do with an environmental issue I believe

As I’ve said previously, riders could always choose to give Poland a miss and ride in Britain, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Czech.... with the money on offer in Poland, I bet they don’t though!
