I know, Waco, that you are a big fan of Ben Morley.  I am a big fan of Ledwith, and the reason that I am such a fan is that he is very entertaining.

With Ben Morley you know he will gate and go, but with Ledwith, you never know quite what to expect other than that he will ride his guts out

for 4 laps and keep your heart in your mouth. Maybe that is why he got a team place ? Nothing to do with his average ?  Just a guess.

Waco is related to Morley and has been banging the drum about him for years despite the fact he is a boring gating tart, a poor mans luke bowen

The question is do Kent want to put out the strongest possible side ,,Gilks will improve with experience, but Ledwith will not,any team needs a strong reserve pairing.Kent have not got that....

Ben Morley must be wondering what he’s done wrong to not be in the team on 3.91 but Ledwith is in on 4.00. Btw it’s a crazy assessment giving him a 4.00. He clearly should be a 2.00 by coming up through up the NL, where he was barely a heat leader in reality. How he can have a higher assessed average for a higher league is just ridiculous!

When Andrew Silver signed for PL  Rye House in 2009 after 16 years out of the sport, he was given an assessed average of 4. Perhaps, in the eyes of the BSPA, a precedent had been set.

To me Ledwith was signed with the thought that he would be on 2.00......and to give him an average of 4.00 is (to me) just bonkers and really unfair. Of course Club will stick with him,but the bottom line is Ben would of been a much better signing! IMHO

He might not hit it but you'd rather give Ledwith a chance than give Morley another one. Morley, while admittedly wouldn't be a dreadful signing, is a good NL rider but probably not really good enough for the premier league.

Its not the Premiership?...it is the Championship.

Len has thought ledwith is a 2, guaranteed.

Im  no fan of ben morley as he has found his level but surely to god at a trappers paradise he will be good for 6 a match at home at central park.

kent look horrific really

Wondering why the Kings are not part of the southern tracks initiative to give discounted admission to fans from other clubs with season tickets: Eastbourne, Poole, Swindon and Somerset all in it.

What people forget is that Ben Morley has ridden the last 2 seasons in the Championship at No 2 for both Lakeside & Eastbourne averaging around the 4 point mark. No doubt a stint in the reserve berth would see his average gain at least a 1 to 1.5 points on top of that .

It’s not rocket science that for teams to be successful you need riders to up there average which Ben would do riding at 6 or 7 for the Kings. He loves the Central Park track & like his stint at both Lakeside & Eastbourne his home average would be above 7 a meeting.

As they say it’s horses for courses and Ben would no doubt take a few heat leader scalps riding around Central Park.

Maybe Ben doesn't fancy it or he has signed somewhere else

There's no way Kent could have expected Ledwith to be on a 2.00 ave, as the rule was set that anyone who has previously averaged above 3.00 gets a minimum ave of 3.00! That is how William Lawson was on a 3.00 ave for Edinburgh at times last season when is actual average was below this!

I would've signed up Morley in a heartbeat, but not sure how he'd fit in with the other signed riders?

It’ll be the same as Adam Ellis was signing for brum. Last gsa x 1.5 as they say that’s an up to date average. (5.47x1.5 8.20) hes a good rider but I don’t think he’s an 8 pointer maybe a 6.5/7 but 8.2 is a lot of points.

Ellis got an 8.00 ave for Birmingham but would sign on 7.80 with NL reduction, seems a good signing to me!

Not sure what your comment (bold) means. However, Bradley’s 2020 CL average will be 8.75 (5.47 PL converted at 1.6).

Yeah BWD's average wouldn't be "bumped up" because he didn't ride Champ, it would be "converted" because he only rode Prem! A fairer way of explaining it!
