Surely the season ticket price of £450 is an error. If you add up the 26 meetings it comes to £464, or does the deal include a free programme.

Circa (at best) 20-25000 people visit Speedway in Britain each week on average.

My shop in a small part of Manchester has more customers than that..

That's the size of the sport.,

So..

Let the Promoters charge what they want and can get away with, supply and demand will dictate the business plan..

Most of those 20-25000 are complete die hards who will turn up every week regardless of price so fair play to the Promoter who can make money out of them..

Seems each year UK speedway continues its downward spiral to the bottom..... less entertainment and lower quantity teams  for more money. Kent’s pitch at CL speedway is just a reflection on how few people are bothered to go and watch.

Sadly it’s reflected in the sports magazine offering, with increased costs and less detail on match reports. The sport is slowly failing.

Reducing attendances will continue to reduce still further ..... initiatives to attract a new generation of fans will fail unless the accompanying adults turn up with their kids. As for the OAPs .... they are a significant % of fans attending the sport, not sure it’s good business to not offer any concessions.

Price comparisons with other tracks don’t mean much in speedway.....people who don’t go rarely to save money don’t suddenly start supporting another team. They just find other things to sped money/time.

Not sure Kent can support Championship speedway at these prices with the draconian curfew still in place. Let’s hope the track delivers entertaining racing without the all too regular incidents seen at NL level last season.

Are they going to make the track wider entering turn 3? Or at least level out the camber?

I asked if the track was going to be altered a while ago. The opinion seemed to be that it would not and the Championship boys with their experience would handle it better.

I went onto the track after a meeting one day last season. It was very interesting watching a tractor with spikes on the back whizz round backwards.

Bend 3 is where the bikes enter the track from the Pits and is about twice as wide as a normal track at that point.. Most riders seem to handle it without

problems but the adverse camber does catch out one or two but only if they go so wide that they'd be in trouble anyway IMO. Maybe could be improved by

brining the fence in quite a way, but that would mean making a new entrance from the Pits.  I don't know which would be the best choice. Is there anyone

on this column who knows about such things ?  All the tractors and the ambulance use the present entrance to get onto the track, so it needs to be fairly wide.

If it was me I would leave it as wide as it now and just take the negative camber off and the racing would get better. With today's bikes it needs to be smooth with a little bit of dirt on.....

The straights are narrow this combined with the adverse cambers on the bend exits are causing  lots of avoidable crashes....Both need sorting with the addition of more shale..Obviously the higher  standard riders will be able to cope better with the problem.if nothing is done....which looks the case..?

Lots of tracks I visited last season doing a lot of positive things with all ages.

Birmingham; Swindon; Glasgow; Berwick, Redcar ; Somerset , Eastbourne all tracks I visited in CL and witnessed initiatives for younger fans, older fans and parents of younger fans.

The end may be cometh but some are at least trying.

As has been said before its right that pricing reductions should be aimed at the younger generation and not OAPs.. Kent are to expensive but the idea of charging OAP’s more isnt a bad one

charging a dwindling group of loyal customers MORE, of any business to cover a lack of new customers is only going to lead one way!

There's no real benefit to have wider straights IMO. The legal limit is currently 8 metres wide, which is quite adequate  to accommodate 4 riders abreast at the starts. Probably the only time they will be in one line in the whole of the race. Far better to concentrate  on widening the entrances/exits to the corners, and widening them to give more racing lines especially with some decent banking. There should always be banking on every track.

Shame nobody tried trying to arrest the decline of the sport 20 years ago.
