i know you post in jest mike but in essence you are very correct sportsonly covenants can be got around pretty easy

Indeed they are..

As is shown in Manchester where the greyhound track is being taken apart to build houses on...

"Can't build houses on that land as there is a covenant on it that it must be used for sport"...

Money talks....

And we have a council who, despite being told how it would all play out given the past form of the stadium owners, allowed the houses to be built with zero progress on the stadium. SBC have been played for complete amateurs. Or are complicit in what has gone on. Either way they've had a hand in Swindon losing yet another amenity and source of entertainment. Without shared experiences and reasons for the town to have an identity we are diminished as a community. And it seems to me that the council are just fine with that. Shame on them. And shame on the stadium owners if all of their talk comes to nought but so many lies.

We certainly have one of the most inept councils in the Country Buzz  ,we must be in the bottom ten.Our town centre says it all a total disgrace run down no vision and quite frankly there is not much  hope of it getting much better anytime soon.

Oxford thanks to Greyhounds now has  a chance of speedway coming back .Proves how dangerous and deluded  and out of touch Jessica Jones was.

Yup,

Would all potential promoters for Oxford Speedway please form an orderly queue , socially distanced outside th stadium, with a big wadge of cash, and the signed contracts for their choice of 7 riders.

According to BSPL things are a bit tight this season, the leagues are all full but the BSPL may consider applications to join the  PL in 2022.

Yep we checked with Buster and co and despite teams no longer participating in the NDL or Cl there is only space to join the Premier League. Apart from the usual fees there is a new joiners fee which has just gone up considerably, as you were not running last year you will have last pick of the rising star and indeed can only sign riders once you have all the paperwork (which we will be delaying until we have signed the riders we want first) welcome to the Prem Oxford and good luck

And by the time your lease is up at Cowley you may have been given voting rights at the AGM...

Any sign of stadium re-vamp as we are now in July of summer months when work was due to start :t:

No, I just came across the above tweet.

Any work on the dog/speedway track has to be encouraging..

However, greyhounds are quieter than four 500cc motorbikes..

The real problem now is the noise from many new home residents with their windows open in the warm / hot weather and their TVs. radios, hi-fi's blaring. Must be a byelaw against it somewhere? TIC before you ask.

I've said it before the Swindon fans need to start protesting! Both with the developers & the council. The Swindon management need to tow the line.

So come on you Robins fans.

There's no reason to lobby the Council. They were never going to pay anything towards building a new stadium. I'm sure as far as they are concerned more houses on this land would be more to their benefit with more Council tax & a bigger budget from Government for meeting the requirement to build more homes.
