Maybe Swindon don't have a promoter to ask the big questions. When this awful season is over, will anyone want to run it.

Well Rosco certainly wants and hopes to run in 2022 according to this week's piece in Speedway Star, whether in a 'new' stadium or as it was in 2019!! He reckons they - the speedway club - are expecting an update from the stadium management any time soon!!

Good luck with that. 2022 will be a vastly different place in the speedway world, compared to 2019.

Yea we are  going to start work next May so you can't used the stadium for another season .....''This is great news for the club and we look forward to 2023 season in a brand  new Stadium . We would  also like to thank Clarke Osborne , Justin Tomlinson and  Gaming int for there Outstanding Contribution in  turning a dream into reality ''

Given the amount of peace and quiet the residents of the houses behind have had over the last 18 months I can't see them welcoming speedway back with open arms any time soon...

Looks like Oxford will replace Swindon in 2022 ?

In all honesty I think Oxford will move into the Championship at the highest. I know there are a good amount of supporters within the Oxford area but they will need to swell their numbers to make the top league a viable option & with news from Eastbourne & Newcastle already vacancies are available

The residents of houses near Shielfield Park had peace and quiet for 15 years before Berwick moved back. :D

You can't complain if you move next to a "nuisance". However, this could prove messy, some residents may have moved in whilst there was no racing. On the other hand the track has always been there and racing was just taking a break because of the redevelopment of the stadium.

After 3 years away, it will require a mammoth effort to get people interested in going again as they will have found other things to do on a Thursday evening.  Plus the people in the new houses will have some justification in complaining about the noise!
