Belle Vue will be without Sam Mcgurk for a little while who has suffered a fractured left femur after his crash at Mildenhall last Sunday.

‘ a little while ‘ ?  is probably a big understatement, think your looking at out for the season unfortunately.

Sad times especially as he was going so well. Fingers crossed for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. Im thinking he wont have done enough meetings to get saddled with a real average.

To replace a 3point reserve, do we have to sign someone temporarily ?

cannot see them allowing a guest at reserve

I believe you can have a 28 day injury replacement,  sign another rider full time (but means McGurk couldn't be reintroduced) or use unattached 3 pointers as much as they like. Dont know the ins and outs but think unattached riders get an average assessed afterevery 4 meetings regardless of team? And there may be a limit on the number of times a single rider can guest for a single team per season.

You can use an unattached 3.00 rider but not one contracted to another team.

McGurk could always be reintroduced, as a 3.00 rider he could replace anyone in the team!

Im sure there is a rule that says you cant redeclare the same rider back into a team in the same season unless its an injury replacement.  There is a man who will know for sure though...

Only previous season riders - I can’t see a problem with what’s being suggested.

Pleased to see Jack Smith has been signed in place of Benji Compton who I assume would have been out with his injury for quite a while

Kind of a bizarre situation that the Colts had 2 x 3.00 reserves, both of whom doubled their averages, but they could still end up with the wooden spoon!
