4thbender 382 Posted January 1, 2020 Well folks, it's New Year's Day and time to wish all members of the dirt track family everywhere a happy, safe and prosperous 2020. Here's looking forward to a new year (and a new decade) of shale-shifting and hoping for another season of exciting, close-fought, injury-free speedway for all riders, fans and officials. As we look back at the past ten years I thought it might be a good idea to nominate the stand-out riders who have represented your team in the years 2010 - 2019 and identify the Championship "Team of the Decade." The aim of the game is to nominate seven riders who have represented your team for at least one full season in the past decade (minimum 15 matches, so no guests!) and list their season average (including bonus points), then tot up the averages to arrive at a team total. The team with the biggest total wins the Speedway Forum Team of the Decade accolade. Here's my entry on behalf of Sheffield, whose Team Total is 64.84. Can anyone beat that? (NO CHEATING!) Rider Year Avg. matches Simon Stead 2014 9.90 29 Josh Grajczonek 2017 9.77 28 Shane Parker 2011 9.25 38 Jason Garrity 2016 9.22 18 Kyle Howarth 2016 9.00 32 Ricky Ashworth 2011 8.88 32 Danny King 2019 8.82 26 Team Total 64.

bloom89 490 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) For Newcastle I'd go with this, Kenni Larsen 9.57 Robert Lambert 9.32 Steve Worrall 9.13 Mark Lemon 9.09 Stuart Robson 8.96 Danny King 8.84 Rene Bach 8.81 Total 63.72 Edited January 1, 2020 by bloom89

I know my post wasn't exactly on the point, but I thought it would be an interesting variation for people to talk about... My guess at highest averages for the last decade would be Glasgow or Edinburgh... I'm gonna go look now Glasgow Tigers 1 Travis McGowan 11.72 2010 2 Craig Cook 10.45 2018 3 Joe Screen 9.80 2010 4 Richard Lawson 9.12 2015 5 Rasmus Jensen 9.05 2019 6 Aaron Summers 8.57 2016 7 Richie Worrall 8.52 2017 67.23 Edinburgh Monarchs 1 Craig Cook 10.52 2013 2 Ryan Fisher 9.69 2010 3 Sam Masters 9.03 2019 4 Kevin Wolbert 8.61 2011 5 Erik Riss 8.58 2018 6 Ricky Wells 8.40 2018 7 Max Fricke 8.07 2014 62.90 That's a no to Edinburgh but Glasgow are higher... Wonder if anyone else tops it? Doesn't help that teams like Somerset and King's Lynn haven't had full decades 6 hours ago, bloom89 said: For Newcastle I'd go with this, Kenni Larsen 9.57 Robert Lambert 9.32 Steve Worrall 9.13 Mark Lemon 9.09 Stuart Robson 8.96 Danny King 8.84 Rene Bach 8.81 Total 63.72 When Danny King first came into this league he was 11.something... Which is much higher... And I thought Kenni was in the 10.something at some point in 2010? Probably wrong though Edited January 2, 2020 by Dandelion
