Lockdowns don't work...

Why doesn't he do that then ? There is no country compared to Sweden, only a trading blocK !!!! No comparison with any of Sweden's neighbours, strangely. B)

And Sweden are now heading for even tougher rules and quite possibly a change of government in the new year as Löfvren is more vulnerable with every passing week. Atm some controversy because he went out shopping in one of the main shopping centres days after telling others to avoid them....

Agreed, but some people’s “real experience” sounds more authentic than others, whichever view it supports.

I have given true examples of Good experiences during Covid and one of a bad experience . I do not have an agenda  but do think if there are rules  they should be adhered to even though you might not agree with them. Other than that I am sure people will draw their own conclusions on your latest posts.

Yes, it doesn’t make sense, does it!

It’s clear that the government could have built enough Nightingale hospitals for 20,000 patients.

But it didn’t have the foresight either to use them or to staff them!

Idiocy of the highest order.

Yes something that confuses/staggers me in equal doses. We have one in Harrogate laying idle and has done for the duration...never really understood the lack of thought that seemed, initially, a good initiative.

In Cardiff there was the hospital at the Principality Stadium which they kept on in the summer and early autumn but have now dismantled. Though the original suggestion was they were going to fit out a smaller version by the Heath hospital

At the very least if we had put all Covid cases in Nightingale hospitals it would have reduced hospital-based infection of non-Covid patients, which make up somewhere between 25% and 75% of Covid patients!

Actually the reality is Sweden is moving closer and closer to the actions of most other countries.

Sweden announced over 200 deaths yesterday and 243 today, with 221 of those in the over 70 age group. Tougher restrictions come into force next week and Mikael Damberg just announced they will get even tougher if things stay bad

Now the government decides on requirements for negative tests for entry from the UK.

The test must be completed at least 72 hours before entry or done immediately upon arrival.

It applies from 1 January.

The decision does not cover Swedish citizens

Germany also announced a record of over 1,000 deaths but again probably some catching up from the holiday period
