Surely, surely Johnson has got to get rid, he's trying to be positive and then along comes this goon and destroys the vibe in one sentence. To be fair, Whitty is right, Covid is a flu and will need a vaccine every year. 1 Share this post Link to post

That's your belief, it's my belief. a lot of the sensible people believe that, the medics of this country believe it, the government and opposition believe it, all the EU believe it, the rest of the world believe it, and the WHO believe it( but I liked the Beatles better). The only people who prefer to defy the logic are those on here with an allegiance to DC2, who has proved to be found out on many threads now, but is always right apparently. The problem with lockdown is, as you have said, its success depends on how the British public behave as their ignorance of following the lockdown rules is detrimental to the success rate of the lockdown. People like dave69, and his errant coppers, boast about their refusal to obey the rules, and probably think they have nothing to worry about. Well they will if they get it, or lose some people near them, and they probable will then complain that they will blame the government of not doing enough to protect them. Vaccines can stop a virus, but not stupidity. A think you've answered a lot of questions there. Sensible folk know what to do. Worldwide were talking about billions of people, some know but many don't. How come so many don't understand how to be sensible?,,, We can only understand what we are told, are WE as a collective responsible for the plight WE find ourselves in?,,, Where did humanity go wrong and, let our fellow humans down?,,, Time will be our universal pill. 1 Share this post Link to post

Fenway Bleachers 2,492 Posted January 5, 2021 Well if I read Chris and Tsunami correctly, and lockdowns work only to be reversed by irresponsible behaviour once lifted, the answer must be perpetual lockdown. As for vaccines, if they provide immunity to an infective agent, preventing disease, they are fantastic. Neither the AZ or Pfizer “ vaccine” provides that, and neither company claim that it does. They say it reduces your risk of developing symptoms. In absolute terms, from the original Pfizer trial, the jab reduces your risk of symptoms from 0.88% to0.044%. Now side effects from the vaccine might be worse that that. So let’s give it to those at high risk, shielding and over 65, if they want it. The rest of us can stick to Lemsip. Unless and until there is more justification for mass vaccination, this ain’t no magic bullet.....even Bozos twins suggest as much. 15 Share this post Link to post

Well they will if they get it, or lose some people near them, and they probable will then complain that they will blame the government of not doing enough to protect them. Vaccines can stop a virus, but not stupidity. Well we've tried lockdown twice and both times they failed. Third time lucky? Yes the virus is spread by contact with others, but lockdown still means that people come in contact with each other so people can still legitimately go out and catch it, then take it home and spread it to their household. The word you're looking for is quarantine, now that would work if it was strictly enforced but of course that is impossible for practical reasons. I agree with you in that you and many on here believe in it, the government does, many but certainly not all medics believe in it, the EU believe in it but where is the evidence anywhere in Europe to show that it has worked? There's been a mix of locking down early, late, harshly, lightly, two week breaks, longer ones yet the results all end roughly the same, every one in sh!t street. And yet again you all seem to have put on the blinkers meaning that all you see and concentrate on is 'covid, covid, covid' and are completely oblivious to the substantial harm this is causing elsewhere. I'm watching my sons education slowly disintegrate. Just before Christmas my partner joined the millions of unemployed directly due to the restrictions. These lockdowns are catastrophic to society yet you don't seem to see it. Edited January 5, 2021 by Shrub 10 3 Share this post Link to post
