TonyE 805 Posted January 7, 2021 Televised learning certainly has a role to play in the current crisis given a basic curriculum exists and could be used to augment the current online learning. The only problem I have is trusting the BBC to deliver it! Share this post Link to post
Wolfsbane 12,615 Posted January 7, 2021 When asked yesterday if the Local & Mayoral elections would go ahead in May Johnson replied 'We will have to keep them under review'. It's almost as if he doesn't believe in his own deadlines of March/Easter or he's $hitting himself as to how many Tory councillors will lose their seats should they go ahead. Either way, it's a continuation of the subversion of democracy. Share this post Link to post

My other half works at a Test Centre and explained to me that particular test is not that accurate and that I should get a proper swab test? According to Matt Hancock, Steve, if the swab test doesn’t work, you should try the eye test, the driving test and the pregnancy test. 2 Share this post Link to post

Regarding people getting tested when they are not ill, there is a lot of pressure from work colleagues to get tested when there has been vague contact in the workplace from someone who has symptoms or tested positive. This is true but also makes me think of every other virus/illness that is transmitted by people - how many of us may have had multiple infections (if we were tested) dealt with by our bodies and we have shown no symptoms? Is this the way viruses actually spread and therefore whether you become ill is not about exposure but simply your body's reaction to it? 4 Share this post Link to post

Spring: Suppress to low levels & get robust mass testing & supported isolation in place. Summer: Eliminate & protect low prevalence with border measures. We cannot have this winter repeat again. We cannot have this winter repeat again. Are those your three phases or hers? She lost me when she said: “The assumption that this is like seasonal flu is one big problem.” And the premise that the UK has done so badly in Europe when Italy, Spain, France and Belgium are equally bad.
