You can go fishing from the comfort of your armchair - it is popular amongst contributors on here ;)

I'm off to the River Gipping around Bushmans bridge in a few minutes, but not taking my armchair with me though. A couple of hours roving with some cheese paste and lobworms, the dogs and a flask of coffee...

I like "persons but not people" if that makes any sense...it's a term that me and an ex-colleague used all the time.

The clue’s in the “ex”!  :D

BBC:

“According to the British Medical Association, there are more than 46,000 hospital staff currently off sick with Covid-19.”

Is that because:

PPE doesn’t work?

There is inadequate Covid control in hospitals?

NHS staff are breaking the Covid laws?

It’s not safe to shop in supermarkets?

Just why are they getting Covid?

Could it be because they are using (just about to stop using it in our local hospital) the lateral flow test for which 50% accuracy was apparently very wishful thinking.

Not sure what you mean but LF tests can give 50% fewer positives than PCR ones so maybe 90,000 nurses should be off sick?

Alternatively, if they’re positive but not ill they are ideal for working in Covid wards!

While I understand people's reluctance to accept lockdown restrictions I think it's sad that people are more interested in trying to find loop holes & legal reasons to enable them to basically go on a jolly rather than trying to contain the virus.

It's pretty obvious that to contain something you need boundaries. If everyone's 'local' boundaries intersect then there's no containment, it doesn't need a high court judge to work that out.

The trouble is that the government has tried to appeal to people's common sense in understanding "do not leave your home unless absolutely necessary" which was always going to be a loser.
