Covid-19 Are we being told the truth ?

Apparently February’s decrease in Covid deaths is due to the January lockdown.

But December’s increase in deaths isn’t due to the November lockdown!

The difference is vaccines and the waning season.

So what are we going to do?

Will we keep going round and round chasing a virus that we'll never catch up with, keep putting more measures in place to suppress the virus, economy and whatever else goes with it, whilst risking civil unrest for many years to come, or,,,

Accept it and, take a hit with ? lives each year or whatever, keep washing our hands, give other folk room and respect whilst close to them, forget about standing shoulder to shoulder in pubs/venues on sporting occasions or pop concerts, forget about cheap flights abroad and things to contain any foreign illnesses, stop milling around the shops all day looking for stuff to buy, try and go paper free (saving trees and stuff), be more conscious of our environment and stop chucking our sh!t everywhere, make the most of what we have, stop putting our old people in care homes,  whilst still risking civil unrest?

The lists are endless.

Despite the UK Government recently ruling out introducing Covid-19 vaccine passports2 , stating that they would be “discriminatory”, it is now confirmed that biometrics firm iProov and cybersecurity firm Mvine have developed vaccine passports.

Recent reports suggest that the UK Government is funding eight different Covid-19 vaccine passport schemes and has already paid £450,000 in grants to these companies4 . One contract worth £42,000 was awarded in November 2020 to Netcompany UK, to develop a “Covid-19 Certification/Passport.

The Government has been lying yet again...

Seeing as the EU are looking at introducing a vaccine passport which folk will be required to have for free movement within it isn't it reasonable for the UK to have a scheme ready to roll to enable Brits to go abroad too?

Is Sweden heading further to the right ?

Corona infection is increasing again in Sweden. For the third week in a row, the number of new patients has increased by ten percent - something that is beginning to be felt in the intensive care units, the Public Health Agency announced at Tuesday's press conference.

On Monday, a number of new restrictions were introduced again. But the question is whether that is enough.

- If the recommendations to keep your distance, stay at home when you are ill, work from home and so on are not followed, the risk is imminent that Sweden will get a third wave, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell in a press release.

The Swedish Public Health Agency has developed three scenarios for the spread of covid-19 until 31 May 2021.

The scenarios are called 0, 1 and 2. What distinguishes them from the Swedes' behavioral patterns, what even social contacts look like, for example.

In scenario 0, it is assumed that the contacts remain at the same low level as during Christmas and New Year. In scenario 1, the contacts correspond to the level during the autumn of 2020. And in scenario 2, the increase in contacts is faster than in the autumn.

- The first scenario is a bit overplayed already. It was assumed that we would hold back our contacts even more. We do not seem to be there. It looks like we are really on our way to a third wave, Anders Tegnell said at the press conference.

The proposal: Max 500 in department stores

If Sweden moves towards scenario 1 or 2, which now seems to be happening, it may be necessary with even more restrictions and closed operations. Exactly which measures become relevant depends on where the spread of infection takes place. One proposal, which has been sent for consultation, is to set a maximum ceiling of 500 people in malls and department stores. The proposal is expected to enter into force on 6 March.

The Swedish Public Health Agency is also working to make infection tracking more efficient.

In all scenarios, the Swedish Public Health Agency has examined the development with or without vaccination. According to the report, vaccinations reduce people for serious illness and death, but this does not affect the spread of infection in the short term.

- If we increase contacts even more today, the wave will be even higher than it is at Christmas. If we vaccinate, it does not have a huge effect, it can lower the scales somewhat, but it is of great importance for what will happen in the wards. It will be of great importance, says Anders Tegnell.

A strange one.......

Astra Zeneca has invited several high-ranking media executives to a meeting about the company's covid-19 vaccine, reports SVT Nyheter.

Among those invited are DN's editor-in-chief Peter Wolodarski, SVT's CEO Hanna Stjärne and Swedish Radio's CEO Cilla Benkö.

The invitation urges participants not to record or quote directly from the meeting, which is questioned by media strategist Paul Ronge.

- I've never heard of anything like this. It's not really wise from a media point of view. Astra Zeneca may have a press conference if they want to convey a message, he says to SVT News.

Astra Zeneca believes, however, that they have no ulterior motives with the meeting. According to the company, the purpose is to inform about the vaccine's effectiveness and delivery challenges in the EU.

It's not 'free' movement if you are coerced into having an experimental gene therapy in order to travel. Dig deep enough and it's understandable why people are not having it...

On 27 January, the Council of Europe signed Resolution 2361, which states that vaccinations in EU Member States should not be mandatory. Furthermore, persons who have not been vaccinated may not be discriminated against in any way. This effectively stops the notion of "vaccine passports".

Deaths are going down because we have a vaccine, & the weather is improving. Nothing to do with lockdown.

I would think that vaccine effectiveness and improving weather could only be guessed at, be hard to prove otherwise. It's all guesswork really. ;)
