What’s the government’s logic behind imposing a test on day two when I return from Spain, bearing in mind it will be the second day of my ten day quarantine and I also have to have a test on day eight?

Can you explain that?

They also have empty hotels, empty beaches, towel-less sunbeds that they need to fill.

So do we, which is we are being banned from going abroad unless you can afford to pay a fortune out when you return

its also why prices in this country have gone up 50% this year

So what?

Are you saying that Covid policy should have no regard to economic necessity?

Even NHS treatments and criminal sentences depend on the economics of their costs and benefits.

The fact now is that daily Covid deaths at 6 are only just above daily road deaths at 5.

Is that a compelling reason to continue with restrictions at the expense of the economy?

Want to visit Germany ? Forget it

No, I don’t want to.

It doesn’t feature at all on the list of places I want to visit. :)

The day I change my mind really will be the day I question these jabs.  :D

I've got a couple of stay-cations as well, England and Scotland. Didn't particularly notice a price hike when I booked but you may well be right.

I won't be paying a fortune out when I get back though (at the moment, anyway).

Just adding to your initial post, that's all. :)

Because testing has become a money making racket.

Want to visit Spain? No tests, no quarantine... pass the sangria.

Want to come home afterwards? Three tests, costing hundreds of pounds, and a 10-day quarantine.

Spain's leaders have the same information as Britain's.

But Britain has Sage.

I suspect you’ll find that Spain is magically added to the green list around mid August…

Hopefully. With a couple of other countries too. But I think it'll be before August.

Even that won’t be too bad as I’m going again in September!

But really, what is the point of the test on day two?

Me too.

I’m pretty sure that the weight of evidence will come to bear in June despite Sage clinging to the vague possibility of a “variant of absolutely no concern whatsoever” on the moon.  :D

This is a bit Blupantheresque, but follow the political donations and you’ll get your answer…

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/11/healthcare-firm-advised-by-owen-paterson-won-133m-coronavirus-testing-contract-unopposed

A lot of public procurement processes have also been bypassed in the name of an emergency situation, and have a guess who gets awarded the contracts…?

Ever felt you’ve been had?
