Now given that the NHS has 141000 beds , unless Bojo and Savage have cut them further, it would seem we have a few spare. Why then is pressure on the NHS so great that we have to “ protect” it at all costs, damage education , the economy, and all non Covid health complaints. Maybe Neil Ferguson’s 5000 admissions a day are still being entertained, but the numbers don’t add up, at least on my non Imperial College abacus. It’s time to STOP testing and start living. Interesting that the increased daily deaths from 10 to 140 in the middle half of the year, despite ever increasing vaccination rates, was blamed on the Delta variant, and yet 140 deaths now despite high “cases” is not explained by the Omicron variant being seven times more transmissible and far milder, but by high vaccination rates. Which “broke the link” between cases and deaths (or rather put further into perspective the fact that few people who get Covid die from it): vaccinations or the mild Omicron? The multitude of variables (recorded cases, actual cases, number of tests carried out, “with Covid” deaths, “from Covid” deaths, vaccine immunity against cases/hospitalisations/deaths, natural immunity, government restrictions, behavioural changes, and variant transmissibility and seriousness) points to a far more complicated picture than merely comparing recorded cases with “with Covid deaths” and praising vaccinations when that looks good or blaming variants when it doesn’t.
