I think it's at the stage now where our promoters are becoming more worried about the financial losses if they were to run a shortened season into November.

We have seen the indiscipline over the weekend with pubs allowed to reopen & as yet premier league football has not been granted a facility for any public attendance. I would hope the BSPA can be sensible at this point & stop stringing us along, We are aware that many stadiums are rented & their staff are in furlough & that many new problems have to be solved like protective shields at entry points, themo checks for all that enter the stadium, restriction of access from area to area & employment of more stewards to police social distancing. All this costs money & who is prepared to foot that bill.

There are many clubs like IoW & Plymouth that rely on the holiday season & Peterborough who race at the EoE showgrounds that has cancelled all events this summer, then Poole & Kent who have hired Leicester as they are unable to access their own tracks to practice.

I think it's time to bite the bullet.

Maybe speedway could attract the lgbt crowd with a gay bar in the stadium ?

So much of society isn't attracted to speedway. Time to think out of the box

Something has to done about attending sports events, certainly before the next football season starts or most league 1 & 2 clubs and some in Championship will go out of business

Cant see a lot of difference in letting crowds into lower league football matches and speedway

If lower league football starts -- speedway will too.

Not sure of league names once you drop down pyramid but crowds of sub 2,000 are common outside the top 4 divisions.

Little wonder speedway is perceived as being stuck  in the dark ages when supporters with views like you are still around.

The following has just been announced, surely now speedway can start up at the beginning of August.

"Pools, gyms and sports facilities will be able to reopen and team sports and outdoor gigs resume in England, the government has announced.

Outdoor pools and performances can resume from Saturday with social distancing in place, Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said.

Beauticians, nail salons and tattooists can also reopen from Monday, he said.

Indoor gyms, sports facilities and pools will be able to reopen from 25 July.

Guidance will be published for team sports to return from Saturday."

There is one thing missing.

No reference to spectators / crowds.

Team Sports I would suggest are amateur / junior sports like soccer, cricket, netball, hockey etc....

My grandson has been training non contact and socially distances for past 3 weeks so hopefully now some matches.

As for taking him to Villa or Brummies Speedway, I don't think today's announcement make any change at all?

If I understand things correctly, the BSPA consider Premiership and Championship as professional leagues. So the National League - a Development league - could be considered grassroots. Am I wrong?

What do we mean by ‘providers of grassroots sport and gym/leisure facilities’?

Providers and operators of space enabling the following activities and facilities may reopen if they are ready to do so and can do so safely, following public health guidance:

· Indoor and outdoor sports courts

· Indoor and outdoor gyms

· Indoor and outdoor swimming and diving pools, including water parks

· Other indoor and outdoor sporting activities (including but not limited to sports fields, rugby, football, hockey, cricket and other pitches, skate parks, climbing facilities, trampoline parks, boxing halls, ice skating rinks, horse stables and arenas, bowling lawns, golf courses, and snowsport facilities, watersports and sporting facilities, track and field facilities)
