tocha 308 Posted May 27, 2020 Many clubs now have their own youtube channels including defunct Oxford. There are some cracking matches. Skol masters from 1990, Pl pairs 1997 featuring a very young Lee Richardson and Dave Mullet for Reading runners up to Long Eaton, Martin Dixon and Carl Stonehewer. Type in the club of your choice to see if they have a channel of their own .

Pinny 2,536 Posted July 7, 2020 Would be good if clubs started showing older videos when the crowds were bigger. Probably difficult as most will be on VHS not dvd so will be harder to convert and upload, but still.
RobMcCaffery 2,752 Posted July 7, 2020 A large proportion of videos released on VHS were taken from master tapes which were usually of a much higher standard than VHS. While some masters haven't survived and a VHS copy has to act as one modern image manipulation software can produce a perfectly acceptable result. The use of video professionally in speedway dates back to KM Video in 1980 who used U-Matic to master their programmes. Their back catalogue is now distributed by Jan Staechmann's Classic Speedway Videos business, so there is plenty of material out there, not just the highly degraded VHS copies that get uploaded to You Tube by amateurs, as opposed to the technically far better content uploaded by professional video firms. In any case, digitising VHS is easy and can be achieved by anyone still in possession of a VHS player and a modern domestic hard disk recorder.
