Wroclaw have today signed " guest rider " Chris Holder and the Torun rider is available to debut away at Czestochowa on Sunday.

What a game changer that could be - presumably he will be straight in for Bewley. If he finds some of his old form this could make Wroclaw title contenders.

Not good news for Bewley but results count, he doesn't look competitive against the top riders.   Holder will score well, a game changer for Wroclaw.

Quick question!

Where has all the money come from in Czestochowa? Almost 10 years ago 'the green lions' tracked - Nermark and the inexperienced Grigorij and Artem Laguta. Spent big on Emil and then relegation sadly followed a few years later.

Present day - Sees Czestochowa track 3 world class riders. Granted their attendances look to have improved in conjunction with lucrative TV contracts and sponsorship.

Madsen, Doyle and Lindgren won't be cheap. Great racetrack and stadium, would like to see Wlokinarz win a title, especially if that stops Leszno walking it (again) zzzzzzzzzz.

I really do hope polish speedway is not going down this route, it is something that has all but killed the sport over here

I suppose it depends on what your definition of world class is... For me I'd say somebody who genuinely was in with a shout of becoming world champion. So I'd say Gollob, Hampel, Dudek & Zmarzlik... I know KK finished 2nd one year but could you honestly see him being world champ?

Well I guess nobody could of seen KK coming second that year but he did.

i dont like this new speedway of nations , much preferred World Cup to be honest. But Poland were dominant at that and would be now.

Zmarzlik, Dudek, Janowski, Drabik, Smektala, Hampel, KK, Pawlickis.... take 4 of them against any four of another country and id back them to win. Of course they wont win every meeting , but 9/10 they would.

So we are outside the transfer window but a team can sign a recently world class rider as a ‘guest’ and use him when and where they like?

From what I have read a 'guest' over there is a DU equivalent over here, and has only been brought it to support the current challenges with Covid 19, eg possible sudden adhoc quarantine changes in other countries that mean riders can't get back into Poland should they relax the rules etc..

Meaning Holder for example can only ride for Wroclaw this season in the top league. .

He won't be riding for 'all and sundry' on an ad hoc meeting by meeting basis like a rider can over here...

The Polish fans wouldn't allow that kind of situation to occur anyway I would suggest..

Imagine Emil coming in for Wroclaw and scoring nil? The fans (when back) would rip the place apart, and he would need a police escort out of the town..!!

So much of Polish Speedway's success is based on that raw, tribal emotion that you get following a team sport, so I am sure they will want to maintain that, and sharing the same riders around on a weekly basis within the same league would destroy that completely and lose thousands from their fanbase...

And as you say, in contrast...

So much of British Speedway's demise is based on the complete lack of that raw, tribal emotion you get following a team sport...

Holder's hardly "one for the future" though is he... he's been in decline since he won his world title. Will Holder score well? Worth a punt I suppose.

Like this country, they do seem to be tying themselves up in rules, for what should be a relatively simple sport... all this business of getting Ruskies on Polish passports etc.

Maybe... it'd be nice to see though wouldn't it? That's the beauty of riding Speedway on track instead of a forum :drink:

That is so true. Yay & a clap or a few F & C bombs is about as exciting as it gets in the UK.

The most excitable & entertaining fans in recent years in the UK were the Cradley (Dudley) Heathens. Then that was probably a group of about 10

Leon Madsen under went an operation in Bydgoszcz yesterday to resolve a disk problem in his back. He says it was successful and will take his place in the Czestochowa side tomorrow.
