Some Brit's get a few outings in division 2/3 in Poland, they far from excel.

Why don't any good level British riders - with the exception of woffy and Lambert - try and get a ride out there. Bewley obviously had a crack but not really top level in the british leagues yet. Someone like charles Wright who didn't look out of place at the british GP would surely be given a go?

Craig Cook said a few years ago in an interview that it cost £35k to set yourself up over there...

And I presume the British lads (effectively initially on trial), won't be getting big signing on fees and 'top money' until they prove themselves.

Also, by doing Poland, they lose the DU potential (and money) as they will be required to ride Fri, Sat or Sun in a normal season..

And then of course you can get replaced very quickly after just a couple of bad meetings, meaning your investment is now bringing in no money at all..

It is a big risk for those who do it, and truly a world away from the 'comfort zone' of riding in the UK, where when you get to a certain level you become 'bomb proof', with absolutely zero chance of losing your place in the top division, and you also get the opportunity to pick up lots of race win money in the 2nd  Division..

There is no doubt though that if your ambition is to reach the top, then you do have to race out there as it gives you a true barometer of what level you actually are at, and where you need to improve, as well as delivering true pressure to perform against the world best..

You can only sink or swim, hence those who swim are the ones who move on to the highest level..

This. You can’t blame some of the Brits for earning good money from riding in both British leagues, as frustrating as it is that they don’t / won’t try to push on in foreign leagues. Hopefully seeing what Robert and Dan are trying to do in Poland will inspire some of the youngsters coming through to strive to do the same.

There were and still sadly are unfortunately some real horror stories too of British Riders (especially in level 2 and 3 in Poland) not getting paid and being owed relatively large sums of money that never materialised in Polish Leagues going back several years.

Better to ride for £50 a point and get paid here than £500 a point and never get paid there!

And the Promoters over here understand that one day, regardless of how much they have 'invested' in the riders development, that they will 'lose them' to Poland, but realise that the more GB riders 'lost' to domestic UK Speedway means the more successful the GB team will inevitably become..

Bringing far more wider media coverage, as the newspapers and TV do love a GB success story..

No disrespect to any team in this country, but not one (however successful) can 'sell' GB Speedway nationally like a winning GB team can..

A lot of that makes sense, that's a whole load of money to get set up. Big gamble to take, thought a couple might have taken a punt since the British season is a bit of a write off

it's been raining all day in Lublin, the weather is supposed to get better in about an hour, so hopefully it'll be enough time to get the track ready for 5pm meeting.

According to Digital Spy forums Premier has been unable to reach an agreement with the owners of Freesat over how much they pay to appear on the platform.

Today's Air Bridge announcement by the UK Government will mean from July 11th people arriving in the England from 59 countries will no longer have an obligation to quarantine for two weeks.  This deal is reciprocal so it has an impact on Poland's relationship with England. Poland, Denmark and Germany are on the list so it should now be possible for riders formerly exiled in Poland to be able to travel to England. Poland will no longer be able to claim a monopoly on speedway riders racing there.

This excludes Scotland, Wales and Norther Ireland whose devolved governments have yet to follow suit.

This does have an admittedly minor effect on the Ekstraliga and far more impact on England's potential to restart racing it would normally be better placed in the main forum section but given the uncontrolled behaviour in that section it's better left alone. It will also have an impact o the two lower Polish leagues in freeing up talent to ride in those leagues as well as any English activity.

Unfortunately Sweden is not on the list so their isolation is set to continue for the forseeable future.
