1) European Heat Wave:Today 27 May was a very hot day in French Côte d'Azur,Corsica and Italian Tyrrhenian Coast. Many May records were broken including Ajaccio 36.2C,Toulon 32.6C,Cannes 31.7C (tied). Nice broke both its highest Tmin/Tmax with 23.5C/31.4C.

Chinese Heat Wave:Both the NW (Xinjiang) and the NE of China are under intense heat waves with temperatures up to 40C. The hot air will move east to Japan tomorrow where few monthly records might be approached specially in Eastern Honshu. Stay tuned.

Batteries produced annually by Tesla's Gigafactory can store three minutes worth of annual US electric demand. At least 100 pounds of materials are mined, moved and processed for every pound of battery fabricated. 100% solar/wind by 2050...:rofl:

Citing the climate crisis, the Los Angeles City Council voted Friday to ban most gas appliances in new construction, a policy that’s expected to result in new homes and businesses coming equipped with electric stoves, clothes dryers, water heaters and furnaces.

More than 50 California cities and counties have adopted similar rules banning or discouraging gas hookups in new homes and other buildings. The nation’s second-largest city was late to the game, said Councilmember Nithya Raman, the policy’s lead author — but no longer.
