One Club Servants

A few more that, as far as I know, spent their careers with just one club:
Les Owen, Roger Hill and Johnny Reason - Coventry
Freddie Williams - Wembley
Eric Chitty, Bluey Wilkinson and Tiger Stevenson - West Ham
Bernie Leigh - Reading
Goog Hoskin - Exeter
Jimmy Cox - Edinburgh
Louis Lawson - Belle Vue
Phil Clarke - Norwich

I never, ever thought I would say this to YOU, but you made a mistake!!! Bernie Leigh rode for Swindon in 1974.

Well spotted.  My excuse is that I didn't see him ride very often for Swindon in 1974, on checking only 6 times!
Remove him from my list and add:
Charlie Barsby - Leicester
Alan Totney - Cradley Heath
Frank Boyle - Oxford
Brian Hanham - Southampton
Bengt Larsson - Sheffield
Bill Landels - Edinburgh

Plus of course the old Rider Control system and later the points limit that forced riders to move on...often against their wish.

You could also had fiction between a rider and management or fans.

Erik Gundersen only rode for Cradley Heath AKA Cradley.

It will be far easier to find a foreign rider that rode for a single club than a British one.

Steve mentioned Erik in the original post...

Thing is, there are MANY riders who rode for only one British club, but only had one or two seasons in the UK. They do fit the criteria, but cannot be classed as "servants". Riders like Kafel, Szczepanik, Olkiewicz, Zabik, Grubmuller, Marzotto etc. Even Brad Oxley...
