Sad news. Often associated with Wally Mawdsley and his many tracks/promotions.

RIP

One of the Allied Presentations crew?

I thnk that he was maybe? He was often an assistant and/or Team Manager. Not sure that he was ever a Promoter in his own right? I know that the five were Reg Fearman, Danny Dunton, Len Silver, Maurice Littlechild and, I think, Ron Wilson?

I really enjoyed that observation. A great quote from a well known promoter..."Wally walked over and looked me straight in the ear "...(priceless)

Did a sterling service at many tracks for a lot of years.

One of his great feats was building Romfords track from scratch in a couple of weeks!

He was still helping out in the late 90's when Dingle Brown ran Mildenhall!

He must surely have been in his 90's when he passed away?

Speedway lost another character, believe he designed the original Hull Vikings body colour in 1971.  RIP....

I think he built Romford in 9 days
