Smaller nation's leagues

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am looking for information on all smaller nation's leagues Preferably:

Finland

Ukraine

Slovenia/Slovakia

Russia (Not small nation I know but barely anything about leagues)

France/Italy - https://ligue-nationale-speedway.fr/

Germany - http://svg-veranstalter.de/BUNDESLIGA/Bundesliga-Teams/

Norway

This is a good website (http://se.aktuellspeedway.eu/serietabell/pge-ekstraliga/) for most leagues... But it's not completely accurate and is missing some little bits of information I'm interested in. But it's the best one I've found yet

I am really interested in the team line ups and results from these any any other 'smaller' nations in speedway... Is there a good website other than the ones listed above anyone else uses

Please, feel free to promote your nation and any useful links, there's not enough information about speedway on the internet for these small nations!!

Also want to add. On that Aktuell Speedway site. When I click on certain things, for example the 'Mega Lada' team from Russia, the riders flash up then immediately disappear and I was wondering if anyone else had this issue on this website? Thanks

I've managed to get around this issue by quickly print screening when they flash up then paste it into a powerpoint document, but it isn't ideal

Finland - best source is

http://www.speedway.fi/etusivu.php

for further info you might try f-s-p on here, I've always found him very helpful.

Ukraine - has no league. Most of their meetings are at Rivne. Their website is:  http://speedway-rivne.at.ua/

I also recommend

http://gorka-speedway.blogspot.co.uk/      (another BSF member)

Slovenia - has no league and only half a dozen or so meetings in total. A 2019 league was proposed, but collapsed after a couple of fixtures. I think your best bet is the facebook account   https://www.facebook.com/Speedway-Slovenija-358894047895931

(it is mainly filled with Polish news, but that is a reflection on how little there is to report)

Slovakia - use Zarnovica's website  http://www.speedwayclub.sk/   (the only track in Slovakia). The smf website

http://www.smf.sk/plocha-draha-vysledky/

contains results and the Czech website

http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/

gives full coverage of Slovak events

Russia -

http://speedway-press.ru/

gives pretty much complete coverage and the Russian speedway forum

http://russpeedway.info/forum/

usually contains the mfr oficial scoresheets

Italy - another one where facebook is the best source. Try:

https://www.facebook.com/GPARacingSpeedway/

Norway -  I struggle with Norway, facebook is probably your best bet

https://www.facebook.com/groups/766676793459478/?hc_ref=ARR78gRM-WQSvMQ2CNAt-HsFt2_kPgyMio20H4jrKdSqthtJxYoIqvoN6se6pUhp-uQ&ref=nf_target

Germany - I use various sources

http://www.svg-veranstalter.de/Startseite/

http://www.speedway-forum.de/

(the German Speedway forum has excellent international coverage to), and the official German Federation has a results archive

https://www.dmsb.de/active/motorradsport/bahnsport/

Unfortunately aktuellspeedway.se seems to have given up the ghost. Like sportowefakty it prided itself on speed of reporting at the expense of accuracy but it was very comprehensive.

If you want anything specific, message me - I have a very comprehensive set of 2019 resuts culled from these and other sources

Thanks very much for sharing all of your useful information, I always find it interesting seeing who rides in these smaller nations, I have been trying to follow Russia for a while now as they seem to have a lot of riders who just appear out of nowhere onto the world stage. Vitaly Belousov was one of them before he hurt himself :( Used to love watching him ride, as far as I know now he is mostly recovered so he can function day to day but doesn't race speedway anymore?

I shall have an hour looking through all of these links, thanks very much... I like to make excel sheets with all the team lineups from year to year for some odd reason and some of the lineups from last season in some of these smaller nations are left a bit empty. :t:

Also come to realise that Britain should move to the category system/squad system/race format!! Like Denmark, so much better than the averages we have now, and it would stop races where Danny Phillips and Steve Worrall are in the same race etc...

Normally I'd recommend buying the Speedway Star's excellent season preview issue which has a comprehensive look at speedway in all nations, including fixtures and team lineups where there is a league, for those you asked about. It might be a tip for next year.

I can't comment on other European Leagues, but for Finnish coverage the website to go to is

http://www.speedway.fi/etusivu.php

There is also plenty of good content on Facebook too of the Finnish League 'Speedwayn SM-Liiga' and for the Baltic League (Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Russia), there is good coverage on 'Baltic Speedway League,' which includes links to live streams of their meetings.

Over in Estonia, I have always found 'Speedway Estonia' on Facebook helpful.

All of the Finnish clubs are on Facebook - the most regularly updated at present is 'Varkaus Racing Team Ry.'

The elite league fat track race format was good for allowing similar standard racers meeting each other more often!

Aktuellspeedway site has been discontinued and is no longer updated even if it still is accessible.
