Ahhhh Andy Williams,  who else used to love his Christmas shows?

They show some of his Christmas specials here every year! Doesn't get any better than that!

I'm going to purchase the "Morecambe & Wise Christmas Specials" DVD in anticipation of not much being on the TV this Christmas.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned.. Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End) by the Darkness....great song.
The Christmas No.1 a couple of years ago was pretty good too, Killing in the name of ... Rage Against The Machine ....just kidding...

2009, but there was a 'hidden agenda' on why it was no.1,,, say no more.

The worst by far is that godawful Wham one. Every time that it's on the TV I just hope against hope that the cable car will plummet to the ground to spare us the dirge. Not a fan either of the Bing Crosby's and that ilk either, sorry!

I do really like Slade, Merry Christmas Everybody is OK but nowhere near their best stuff, they were fantastic live and was always a bit bizarre having 'that' song in the playlist at Easter or Summer! You left a Slade gig like you should leave any gig - with your ears ringing and feeling properly entertained.

Also really like Greg Lake's I Believe in Father Christmas and also honing in on the commercialisation of Christmas, 'Hey Santa Claus' by Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson. I'm guessing a few on here know it,  a real love or hate song. If you don't know it, be warned that it has the odd naughty word in it!

Now where are those humbugs...

Worst ever : Mistletoe and Wine , by Sir Harry closely followed by anything that mentions Christmas or was  Christmas Number One.

Favourites : Tiger Rag by Jelly Roll Morton ( 1933 version) , Take the A Train by Duke Ellington, I Hope That I Don’t Fall in Love With You by Tom Waits,  and Only A Pawn In Their Game by Bob Dylan. Pretty much the same the rest of the year:approve:

I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone mentioning "Must be Santa" or "The Season's Upon Us". Both great Christmas songs from recent* years...Although based on what I have seen suggested, I might not get much support in that view :D

Bob Dylan - Must Be Santa (Official Video) - YouTube

Dropkick Murphys - "The Season's Upon Us" (Video) - YouTube

* you know you are at least well on the way to old when 11 years ago is recent
