We learned the verdict in the case of Maksym Drabik. The speedway rider for breaking anti-doping rules was suspended for 12 months. Therefore, he will be able to return to practicing speedway on October 30 this year.
After extremely long proceedings, lasting over 16 months, we finally have the final of the case of Maksym Drabik. Or at least some part of it, because it should be remembered that the parties have the right to appeal against this judgment to a higher instance.

The Disciplinary Panel at the Polish Doping Agency punished the competitor with a one-year suspension. The penalty is counted from the moment of temporary suspension of the player by POLADA, which took place on October 30 last year.

Let us remind you that the whole thing started with the rematch final match of PGE Ekstraliga 2019, when Maksym Drabik - representing Betard Sparta Wrocław at the time - admitted to taking more drip than is allowed. The speedway rider applied for retroactive approval for therapeutic purposes, which would clear him of the charges, but did not obtain it. The case was also examined by the Arbitration Tribunal at the Polish Olympic Committee, but also there the speedway rider's request to take into account retrospective consent to taking an increased dose of drip was not granted. On January 25, Maksym Drabik held a hearing before the Disciplinary Panel, and after a few days the verdict was announced.

- We believe in Maksym's return to the speedway tracks as soon as possible. We hope that he will develop his great talent, enjoyed his ride and achieved sports results - the Wrocław Sports Society said in a statement.

Maksym Drabik is suspended until October 29, 2021, and he will be able to start training on the track on August 30 - two months before the suspension expires.

Just announced suspended for 4 years.- Google translated

Betard Sparta Wrocław physician Bartosz Badeński did not avoid a severe penalty for giving Maksym Drabik a prohibited intravenous infusion. Disciplinary proceedings in his case began shortly after the decision of the one-year disqualification of the player himself. Now it is known that Badeński was disqualified for four years and will not be able to work in sports during this time.

However, the former doctor of the Wrocław club does not intend to lay down his arms and has already appealed against the decision of the Disciplinary Panel. He is demanding an acquittal because he claims that he did not make any mistakes and the drip had to be given to the athlete in order to save his health. So far, however, the adjudicators have not accepted his arguments.

The case is not as exciting as in the case of Drabik, because the doctor has not performed any function in Sparta Wrocław since the beginning of this year, and now he defends himself. The harsh verdict in his case is also a consequence of the information established in the course of the previous proceedings. In the case of Drabik, the Disciplinary Panel found that the competitor did not know that he had been administered a prohibited substance, and the doctor acted as an auxiliary offender. This, however, did not save the rider from suspension, because according to the regulations, the athlete takes full responsibility for everything in his body.

While the news on the case of Baden is not optimistic, Maksym Drabik has reasons to celebrate. As previously reported, WADA has not decided to appeal against the Disciplinary Panel's decision and it is now certain that the rider will be able to return to track practice on August 30. Officially, the suspension period will end on October 30. A moment later, on November 1, he will be able to sign a contract with the new club.

Whatever the doctor was doing, Drabik took into his body, he should have been aware, his body is his responsibility. We can all say Yes or No.
In the meantime his peers, Smektala, Robert Lambert and Kubera are getting much needed experience.
