Leicester Lions 2021

Recommended Posts

Scunthorpe's Programme is one of the best around. For £1 you get all you need the racecard for the meeting you don't need to spend £3 on a interview you read on the internet 3 days beforehand

Was down Asda the other day and saw a guy get out of his car wearing this:

https://shop.lcfc.com/leicester-city-fa-cup-2021-winners-t-shirt

Went to the Leicester Lions shop thinking I'll get my commemorative League & Shield Winners t-shirt:

Oh dear...

Just saying B)

Surely just down to demand, getting stuff printed or embroidered that may not sell

It's strange that the club haven't done anything, you would have thought it would have been a way to make a bit of easy money. Buy and print t-shirts for a fiver, sell em for £20. There are a lot of people that wear Leicester merch on race night at BP.

I've stood there and watched people shell out £25-£30 for tour t-shirts at music concerts!

I know I'm the resident nerd but I have what I think is a very pertinent question......

Issue 11 of the Championship declarations shows Dan Thompson's new average, 6.05, effective 28/7/21. This means Dan can continue to ride at reserve this Saturday vs Poole and at Plymouth next Tuesday.
However, checking the rules, Dan's new average should become effective 7  days after the last qualifying meeting (Eastbourne last Sunday 18th July). On that basis Dan will be in the team at Plymouth.

I'm guessing the effective date of 28/7/21 is a mistyping of the 25/7/21. But the difference in dates could make a big difference to the result at Plymouth.

[And just to prove I'm not infallible. I just proofread the above and I'd typed Dan's new average as 60.5. With that average we'd definitely win the league :) ]

As it happens, the announcer at Leicester tonight said it was Dan's last meeting at reserve.

That Leicester City shirt is just a cheap cotton t-shirt, no comparison!

And people are paying £22 for it... compared to, erm, nothing. There is no comparative commemorative shirt (or any league title merch for that matter) available!

See what ya mean m8, I think we had triple/treble champions put on some hoodies after we won in 2006 or 2009. Maybe worth asking?

It's just a point I'm trying to make that the club are doing nothing to "cash in" on their success and get a bit of extra money in the coffers... you generally see quite a lot of folk at Leicester wearing other club merchandise, so I would suggest there is a market for it.

LCFC T shirts celebrate winning 2021 FA cup.
Tour T’s reflect current tour of band. unfortunately COVID wiped out the opportunity Lions had to cash in with Merch. Frankly doing something now would appear out of date from the off - unless of course  the year was not actually included.

Of course it wouldn't... Even if that was the case why wasn't there a range out for Christmas 2019? Or ready for the 2020 season? The club did nothing!

I've seen people walking around wearing 2020 GP T-shirts with the original (cancelled) calendar on the back!

In fact you can still get one for £4 and they're probably still making a profit.

You could have  merch with the start and finish dates of your 'Unbeaten at Home' run!;)

Well done to Stuart Dickson for his praise of Poole in his post-meeting comments - especially after his previous disparaging remarks.
