Kent ran with 2 guests at Eastbourne on Sunday. Heeps and Gilkes were missing.

So they had Nicol in for Heeps as he's in the 1 to 5. Thomas was a Rising Star Guest as Gilkes is designated Rising Star.

If Rising Star and one of top 5 missing you can have 2 Guests

If 2 missing in top 5 you have to have a Guest and an RR.

Can't get my head around this rule . Berwick rode against Scunthorpe the other week,m who had a rider missing through injury Josh Auty and they replaced him with Jake Allen as a guest

Look at my later post as the rules have changed and i was out of date

R/R would have been beneficial at Eastbourne and we need all our riders to get as many laps as possible after the council refused to allow the team any practice and that leaves us with no home advantage against a very strong Glasgow side..so lets just hope for a good competative meeting..and hope our team can get dialled in quickly tonight...

Whilst a daft decision by the council (really is no difference between a race on race night and practice on a race night) could Kent have not arranged a "challenge" match trialling a new format. Home riders take 6 rides each setting a time and couple of local juniors try and match it as opposition. Result may be obvious but "practice" laps achieved.

Thats a good away win, perhaps helped a little by Heeps r/r but a win nonetheless. The downside is two more riders withdrawn through injury, there have been quite a few injuries so far this year despite there being a relatively small number of meetings.

Pleased with that solid right through the team.

See a few riders up in arms with these new tyres seems a few not confident in them at all.

Going to be a long hard season for Kent.

Big fish in the small pond now in with the bigger fish.

Scotty must be wondering what he's let himself in for..

Glasgow made that difficult at first, speedy recovery to Jack Smith and Dan Gilkes, the Tigers came good in the end, thanks to all the Kent fans who were very gracious in defeat, we apologise for using air horn but stopped when we realised it was not allowed. Tidy wee stadium, hope Kent goes on to have a consolidating season.

He will take it in his stride and earn decent point scoring money Scott takes every meeting as it comes a great servant and rider.

Have to say after really looking forward this....came away really disappointed.

Nothing to do with the result...Glasgow by far the better team and deserved the four points. But the track was really tricky at the beginning (for whatever reason/reasons) and that led to losing another two riders injured!!!!

Another meeting that was long and drawn out, riders breaking tapes and it takes so long to get the race on again.Did not help having R/R and replacing the injured riders.Just seemed to be so much hanging around...I left before the end and surprised they beat the curfew?

Have to say Scotty is pure class and his ride to get Hurry 2 points in Heat 6 was a real team player and leader.

Watching Hurry is very nervous thing to do after all his injuries etc....Starke and Bacon showed glimpses of what they are capable of and Ben battled for his 7 points. But not having Heeps and losing Dan early was curtains.

Really need another Heat leader to take pressure off Scott...otherwise can only see bottom place for Kings.

Sad to hear the track was tricky (soaking) at the beginning, unfortunately NL antics just won't wash with higher calibre riders. Tape breaks were probably as much down to the clutch burner in the box as it was riders although most know gating is key at Kent so were keen to get away. There is certainly promise in the Kent team although they could do with a flyer at 2 rather than Hurry who was difficult enough to watch at NL level.

No home practise for Kent meant no home advantage at all...Glasgow in the main were sharper from the gate..Nichols excepted, who was the stand out rider all night ..Hopefully after this run out the Kings can show what they are capable of next week against the not so powerfull Plymouth side....How ever we may yet find  that the side falls  a bit short on heat leaders,,remains to be seen when Heeps returns from injury..at this stage we can but hope that is not the case...

I see Scottie had  7 rides with 2 Tac Subs I thought you could only have  1 Sub per rider?
